It’s finally December and we are officially feeling Christmassy at the Stanhope Foundation! We recently held our annual Christmas gift wrapping event for the wonderful charities that we support. On the night, we had some very enthusiastic elves arrive to help wrap over 500 presents for us to send to Maggie's Centres, St Mungo's, Construction Youth Trust, Mencap and The Mayor's Fund for London. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the businesses and Stanhope projects who have supported the Foundation this year and made this event possible. 📢 JAIL OR BAIL! 📢 Next Friday, Maggie’s are locking up London's 'most wanted' business leaders for outrageous crimes until they have raised enough money to be released. Meet our defendants! Andy Golding, Julian Bremner, Nick Crosbie, Justin Saunders, Jon Hall, William Page - Chartered MCSI and Robert Barron, Chartered FCSI Defendants will be ‘locked up’ 50 Storeys high at 8 Bishopsgate for a range of ‘crimes’ including: “Excessive use of emojis in LinkedIn posts” and “…an inability to avoid a karaoke mic despite having absolutely zero singing ability…” Our defendants are in for a wild ride as they face trial by 'Judge' Suzanne Kingston who will set their ‘bail’. Armed with only their phone and laptop they will need to fundraise bail to escape their fate. Follow the fun on social media throughout the day, as they rock the jailhouse to attempt to reach bail! The Just Giving page will be launched on Friday 15th November at 9am. If you think your employer could benefit we are holding an online Cancer in the Workplace session this week on 24th October at 9.30 – 11.30 hosted by our cancer support specialist, Alison Goodwin. Maggie’s Interactive Cancer in the Workplace workshops can help HR Managers, Line Managers, and employees to support colleagues affected by cancer. We cover: -The emotional, physical, and psychological needs or people with cancer -The impact of cancer on family, carers, and friends Challenges in the Workplace -How to approach situations with knowledge, empathy and understanding -Creating a framework to support and manage people with cancer -Communicating with people with cancer in the workplace -Managing a return to work Alison is a Registered Nurse and Art Psychotherapist based at Maggie’s in the City, for this webinar she draws upon her expert clinical knowledge as well as her experience supporting people through what can be the most difficult time in their life to help people to understand how best to support colleagues, staff, and friends with cancer.
