From Castles to Conservation: A Career Journey at Merlin!   Today, we’re celebrating the amazing journey of Gage Spencer. Starting at Warwick Castle in the accommodation team, Gage quickly rose to Wedding and Events Coordinator, organising unforgettable experiences. 🎶💍   Her passion for making a difference led her to become a SEA LIFE TRUST charity champion, and she’s now on an exciting secondment as Marketing and Engagement Executive for the SEA LIFE TRUST, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and dedication. 🦈   When reflecting on her Merlin journey, Gage shared: "What I love about being a part of Merlin is no two days are the same! There is a new adventure around every corner with a great team to explore it with! I've been lucky enough to be supported and encouraged to turn my little experience into a true craft! I started with Merlin in the Warwick Castle accommodation team then I was quickly lucky enough to become a Wedding and Events Coordinator. From gorgeous weddings, heart warming fun days, and amazing concerts, it's all been such a memorable experience. This fall, over 1500 Merlin employees and volunteers from over 50 locations united around the world for our annual SEA LIFE TRUST 24 Global Beach Clean. From New Zealand to California, Bangkok to Brighton, we joined together across time zones to tackle beach pollution and protect our oceans. 🌊 It is estimated that 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the world’s oceans each year and that by 2050, the oceans could have more plastic in them than fish. At SEA LIFE TRUST, we work directly to address this crisis, and realize our vision of a world where our seas are healthy, protected and full of diverse life. 🌍 Watch as we clear coastlines, fill bags with over 10,000 lbs of litter, and celebrate the impact we've made - one beach at a time. 24 Hours of Global Beach Cleaning: A World United! On September 18th, we joined forces across the globe for SEA LIFE TRUST’s 24-Hour Global Beach Clean! From Australia to the USA, volunteers united to tackle plastic pollution and protect marine life. 8 million tons of plastic enter our oceans every year, harming wildlife and ecosystems. But together, we can make a change. In just 24 hours, we cleared thousands of kilograms of litter from beaches and coastlines worldwide. Thank you to everyone who helped! It's Global Beach Clean Day, and what a day it's been! It's been incredible seeing communities across the globe all come together to make a huge positive difference to the plastic pollution crisis. Not only have our volunteers been collecting litter around the world, they've been doing it with flair - combining their clean-ups with some amazing initiatives and interesting finds! We've seen a turtle release in Australia, found old ship engines in Iceland, been part of a research grant presentation in Malaysia, been dancing in Spain, created comedy Instagram reels in Germany and the Americans are still going!
