The Maritime LEGO Project has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Maritime UK Solent Awards 2024 - Future Skills category. The project was conceived during a conversation with a friend and colleague from Cowes Enterprise College an Ormiston Academy, Andy Green, 3 years ago. I went away & developed the idea into the project it has become - 1600 learners and potential future maritime sector employees have participated in the activity. A big shout out to those companies that have & continue to support the work. Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair at Maritime UK Solent said: “Congratulations to the LEGO Maritime Project who are a finalist in the Maritime UK Solent Awards 2024! We have been thrilled with the extremely high quality of submissions this year. “Now in its third year, the Maritime UK Solent Awards continue to go from strength to strength and it really is fantastic to see the outstanding quality of talent and skill in our region showcasing what an incredibly strong and thriving maritime sector we have here. Exciting to see Concorde on the front page of The Times again! 📰 Reminds us of when we hit headlines marking the incredible journey we had relocating the GBOAA Concorde from Isleworth, West London to National Museums Scotland's - National Museum of Flight! 🚢🌊✈ It was no small feat – a complex project which required lots of planning, navigating challenges, and collective working. Successfully completing this project created a strong foundation for many similar technically challenging projects ahead! 💪 #ConcordeMemories #TerraMarique #SkyToSea
