Just before the festive break, members of our Willesden and Kensal Green project team used their Giving Back days to support the Irish Elderly Advice Network’s Christmas event. Many of the older Irish people supported by the network worked in construction all their life, some of them with Murphy going back many decades, which gave the team of volunteers a powerful connection to the event. Throughout the day the team were busy moving tables, lifting and carrying, running the bar, cleaning glasses, chatting to the people, serving dinners and helping to encourage donations. Speaking after the event, Nora Mulready, the Network’s CEO said: “On behalf of our whole organisation, please pass on our huge thanks to the volunteers from Murphy. They were a phenomenal help and people loved having them there. It was a great day and a great way to end the year.” #OneMurphy #MoretoMurphy #communityengagement #givingback #construction Seamus Mulready mark conway Dawn Moore Sarah Elizabeth Barnes Charlotte Houghton

Our team working on the Severn Trent Hinckley to Hartshill project reached a significant milestone this week by completing all works required for Severn Trent to meet their key regulatory date with the Environment Agency. So far, the team has completed the installation of all rising main and gravity pipework, in addition to the construction and commissioning work at two new pumping stations. This will enable flows to be transferred between Hinckley Sewage Treatment Works to upgraded facilities at Hartshill STW. This is an excellent achievement with the project team overcoming a number of challenges over the last 18 months to meet a demanding programme. #OneMurphy #construction #infrastructure #water Colin Joyce John Raftery CEng MICE Adrian Savory Joan Gooden

Congratulations to all our colleagues in the HOCHTIEF-MURPHY Joint Venture (HMJV). This latest, well-deserved award rounds off a stellar year for them and it's great to see their hard work recognised so widely! #MoretoMurphy #LPT2
🏆 We’re thrilled to announce that National Grid’s “London Power Tunnels Phase 2 – Package 2 Tunnels and Shafts” won the Tunnelling Project of the Year (over $100M) at the New Civil Engineer Tunnelling Awards held in London on 5th December. 🏆 This was a night to celebrate exceptional achievements in the tunnelling community and we’re honoured and very proud to have been recognised once again by NCE. The collaboration, dedication and commitment of the HOCHTIEF-MURPHY Joint Venture (HMJV), National Grid, AECOM teams and all of our supply chain partners has made this achievement possible and we thank everyone that has been involved who has contributed to the success of this project. The judges commented “an impressive project with significant innovations, sustainability initiatives, upskilling of the workforce and demonstrable community engagement. The reduction in carbon emission is a significant sustainability accomplishment. In summary an amazing effort” ✨ HMJV’s Project Director, Raj Kundan said “Since commencing the project in December 2019, the collective team have been amazing in working together to overcome challenges, develop innovative solutions and being efficient in their delivery approach. Following the prior successes of CTRL320 and Crossrail C310, this is yet another major tunnelling infrastructure project where the team have set a benchmark for delivery – with the team completing the LPT Phase 2 Package 2 works this year within time, within budget and leaving a lasting positive legacy. This has been done whilst collaboratively supporting the wider LPT Phase 2 Project 13 Enterprise, for which works continue over the coming years. It’s great for this to be recognised by the NCE Tunnelling Awards judges – well done team!” 👏 #NCEAwards #LPT2 #OneTeamOneSpirit #tunnelling #innovation #sustainability #upskilling #community #carbon #construction #engineering #MajorInfrastructure #Project13 #TunnellingProjectOfTheYear Murphy HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd HOCHTIEF

Seven brave acts from across Ireland took to the stage for our Lip Sync Fundraiser in aid of the Julian Benson CF Foundation at the weekend. A huge thank you to each and every one of our acts, to our wonderful judges, organisers and everyone who supported our acts through their donations and applause. Davy Hanlon (aka Taylor Swift) was our overall winner on the night, with Mark Hanniffy and Paddy Savage taking the prize for ‘Most Creative Performance.’ Our iDonate page is still open for donations until this Friday 13th December, after which the prize for the act that has raised the most funds for the JULIAN BENSON Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be awarded. To donate go to: https://lnkd.in/eppee8Z2 The Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is creating a home away from home in Dublin where families can stay, free of charge, whilst their loved one is receiving treatment in hospital. As well as fundraising, Murphy has also been supporting the renovation of this house over the last year, with our teams taking part in a huge collaborative effort, to see the project through to its completion. #OneMurphy #MoreToMurphy #GivingBack #MurphyinIreland #TranquilityHouse Dermot Bannon Architects
