This Christmas, we had the privilege of donating gifts to Demelza Charity, bringing smiles and a little extra magic to some incredible children and their families. Demelza believe every child and young person who has a serious or life-limiting condition should receive the care and attention they need to live the most fulfilling life they can, and that they and their families have the opportunity to build memories, for however long they have together. The HOCHTIEF-MURPHY Joint Venture (HMJV) and National Grid teams at London Power Tunnels Phase 2 have supported Demelza over the duration of the project through fundraising, gift appeals, volunteering and providing transport on multiple occasions to help the logistics at the charity's warehouse. The season is all about giving, and we hope these small tokens of love bring warmth and happiness to those who need it most. 🏆 We’re thrilled to announce that National Grid’s “London Power Tunnels Phase 2 – Package 2 Tunnels and Shafts” won the Tunnelling Project of the Year (over $100M) at the New Civil Engineer Tunnelling Awards held in London on 5th December. 🏆 This was a night to celebrate exceptional achievements in the tunnelling community and we’re honoured and very proud to have been recognised once again by NCE. The collaboration, dedication and commitment of the HOCHTIEF-MURPHY Joint Venture (HMJV), National Grid, AECOM teams and all of our supply chain partners has made this achievement possible and we thank everyone that has been involved who has contributed to the success of this project. The judges commented “an impressive project with significant innovations, sustainability initiatives, upskilling of the workforce and demonstrable community engagement. The reduction in carbon emission is a significant sustainability accomplishment. Last month HOCHTIEF-MURPHY Joint Venture (HMJV) participated in the annual Murphy World Cup Summer event at the Powerleague in Shoreditch to raise money for Anthony Nolan Trust, the UK largest stem cell register. The Team put in great effort reaching the Quarter Finals of the tournament out of 22 teams across the Murphy business and supply chain partners.
