We're the government’s housing and regeneration agency. We help create affordable, quality homes and drive regeneration.
About us
As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, we believe affordable, quality homes in well-designed places are key to improving people’s lives. We help make this happen by combining our powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and build more quality homes. We achieve this by forming long-term partnerships that bridge the public and private sectors and by using our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed. We also use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting building safety. Together, with our partners, we’re accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country. However, our ambitious and exciting agenda can only be achieved through collaboration and commitment. Whatever your role in the built environment, we’re your partner in housing and regeneration and we’re here to help. We’re the #HousingAndRegenerationAgency. Following the publication of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper, Homes England has also been tasked with a core role in spearheading regeneration, partnering with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities across the country to ensure communities reach their full potential.

As 2024 comes to a close, I'm reflecting on the incredible journey I've had since joining Homes England as a Risk Graduate in late September/early October. These past few months have been fulfilling and exciting, and I'm incredibly grateful to the Learning & Organisational Development team and my colleagues for making my transition seamless and rewarding. 🎉 Here are some of the key highlights so far: 🏡 Site Visits: Exploring projects in Forth Yards (Newcastle) and Digbeth (Birmingham), learning from experts about the planning processes and timelines involved in creating new homes. 🏡 Risk Management: Gaining a deeper understanding of how risk management shapes key decisions and strategies at Homes England. 🏡Graduate Recruitment Campaign: Participating in the 2025 graduate recruitment campaign, including the Coventry open day, which felt especially meaningful as I was in the same position just a year ago! 🏡 Health & Safety Awareness: Earning my Health and Safety qualification and expanding my knowledge of the crucial safety requirements on construction sites. 🏡 Diversity & Inclusion: Collaborating with the BAME Executive Team to help create a more inclusive environment within the organization. With so much more to come, l'm excited to continue my growth and contribute to Homes England's mission of delivering more homes for the nation in 2025. #HomesEngland #RiskManagement

Year in review: performance highlights 📈 In July this year we published our annual report, covering the last financial year (April 2023 to March 2024). Published every year, the report details our performance from this time. As we look back on 2024, we’re reflecting on some of the highlights from this report. This year we’ve helped to deliver local visions and unlock more housebuilding and regeneration for cities, towns and rural communities. None of this could be achieved without the hard work and dedication from our colleagues and partners across the sector. We now look forward to delivering more impactful activity together in 2025. We thank all partners and colleagues and wish them a happy festive break and New Year. ☃️ #YearInReview #WeAreHomesEngland

ECF is working with Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority on The City Village. This ambitious regeneration opportunity will create up to 1,000 new homes, community parks and public spaces, helping to transform the city centre into a safe, sustainable and inclusive place where people can thrive. Read more below. #HomesEngland
Major milestone for Bradford City Village We’re delighted to announce that Bradford Council and ECF, via Muse have signed a development agreement to kick-start Bradford City Village. A flagship, #sustainable community set to redefine Bradford city centre, this project will deliver: ✅ Up to 1,000 new homes (including affordable housing) ✅ Three vibrant community parks and public spaces ✅ Independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and business spaces ✅ A walkable, eco-friendly neighbourhood designed for future generations City Village is set to be one of the first examples of devolution in action – delivered thanks to our collaborative #partnership with Bradford Council, Homes England and West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said: “Thanks to partnership working and the power of devolution, we’re unlocking millions of pounds of investment to regenerate communities, raise living standards, build more homes and grow our economy. Bradford City Village will be a gamechanger for West Yorkshire as we work to build a stronger, brighter region.” Bradford Council Leader Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe said: “This is an exciting step forward in our vision to create a healthy, sustainable and friendly neighbourhood. City Village is a transformative regeneration programme which will re-define the city centre. Whilst housing is at the heart of these plans, City Village will also create opportunities for new independent retail, cafes, bars and business spaces in a city that in 2025 will become the UK’s number one cultural destination." A planning application is expected to be submitted in spring 2025, following a second phase of public consultation. 👉 To learn more, go to https://lnkd.in/e2GDuwFJ ECF with Homes England | Legal & General | Bradford Council | Pagabo #partnership #sustainability #placemaking #regeneration #affordablehomes

Year in review: Venturi Homes 🔑 This year, we’ve continued to support small and medium sized housebuilders to kickstart their projects by providing development loans from £250,000 to more than £10 million. As 2024 draws to a close, we’re highlighting one of the many SME’s we’ve partnered with to accelerate new house builds in places of need. We forged a new partnership with Venturi Homes, a small but ambitious housebuilder based in Yorkshire. Focusing on the need for more homes in rural North Yorkshire, we invested £1.5 million of loan funding to accelerate the building of Pant Copy, a development of 8 high-quality homes of mixed tenure, including affordable housing.
