Our team got into the festive spirit with Christmas Jumper Day! It was great to see colleagues sporting their jumpers, both in the office and working from home🎄🎅. #ChristmasJumperDay

Last week, we had a wonderful time at the Care and Support Christmas party! Our customers enjoyed a Beauty and the Beast pantomime, a surprise visit from Santa and delicious treats like popcorn and candy floss. Colleagues attended the Essex Care Awards last night, and came home with highly commended in the Empowering Workforce category. Director of Customer Services Helen Gregory, and Head of Care and Support Lucy Drake, proudly received the award, here is what they had to say: “We were honoured and privileged to attend the Essex Care Awards last night on behalf of the entire team. This award recognises the incredible hard work and dedication of everyone in the Care and Support team and People and Organisational Development team over the past 5 years. It’s been a challenging journey, especially during the pandemic, but we’ve persevered and transformed our service. We've turned a loss-making service into one that now generates a reasonable return. None of this would have been possible without our amazing team, who consistently deliver exceptional care to our residents. A very special tree has appeared in our office kitchen. We’ve partnered with HARP Southend's Homeless Charity, to bring some Christmas magic to those experiencing homelessness this year. Gift tags on the tree contain a requested item from people experiencing homelessness in our local area. HARP provide housing, advice and support to over 1,000 people each year who are either experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home. We had the privilege of hearing Emma, a customer at Estuary, bravely share her story of losing her son Jon at the age of 17 to inhaling butane gas. Emma's story is a stark reminder of the devastating impact substance abuse can have on individuals, families and communities. We hope this video raises awareness and encourages open conversations. 🦸 It's 'Community Heroes Day' today for ASB Awareness Week. We would like to give special recognition to our Resident Voice and Influence Panel (RVIP). They're our Community heroes, and the driving force behind positive change. Earlier this year, RVIP conducted a thorough review of fly-tipping in the area. Their recommendations have paved the way for a new pilot project focused on education, improved signage and stricter enforcement. They also supported the Great British Spring Clean litter pick this year, and met with customers at the summer roadshows to help shape our new ASB standards. Together, we're working to create cleaner, safer communities. #ASBAwarenessWeek #CommunityHeroes #RVIP #FlyTipping #CleanCommunities
