Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we work with our support providers to ensure that the right level of support is delivered to our tenants via person-centred care.
Person-centred care focuses on the needs of the individual. People's preferences and needs should guide decisions, and care should be provided that is respectful and tailored to the individual.
One of our tenants, Alex, was involved with choices about his support at his home in South West London.
Alex’s support worker involved him in making decisions about what he would like support with which includes cooking and planning meals, learning how to do housework, and with exercising in the gym.
Co-production ensures our tenants are involved in decisions about their support, which increases their confidence and resilience, and crucially, their ability to disclose safeguarding concerns, according to Ann Craft Trust, the leading authority on safeguarding.
