To support our ESG targets, Hello Student®recently powered up to launch our exciting Student Energy Saving Week campaign across our cities and sites driven by Michael Barrett and a cross-functional collaborative team. This involved lots of fun activity to raise awareness around the importance of saving energy and making a positive impact on the planet. It included a step count competition with prizes, our energy superheroes and villains (designed by our students), hints and tips stickers, engaging table displays and training videos as well as handing out delicious, branded cookies on launch day for those who stopped by the stands. Students were also encouraged to share their energy saving tips and stories on their socials to support the campaign. Our aim is to reduce average energy consumption per bed. Initiatives like this help to drive positive change towards this target in a fun way, as we strive to make memorable experiences for our customers. #NRGsaver #ESG #Fun #StudentAccommodation #Collaborative

We are delighted that our very talented Cara Fearnley won the Rising Star 🌟 accolade at Property Week's Student Accommodation Awards last night. We're thrilled that her exceptional work and dedication has been recognised at this prestigious industry event. 🎉   After driving outstanding performance in regional operations roles, she now leads operations across ESP’s entire portfolio, where she continues to mark herself out as a future leader in the PBSA sector. Cara is an inspirational role model; she lives our values and is a highly regarded member of our team. We couldn't be prouder of this very well-deserved win!   Our wonderful CCO, Gemma Le Marquer also hosted a fantastic panel at the conference earlier that day discussing how cutting-edge integrated technology will impact the Student Accommodation industry, as we prepare for Gen Alpha! In support of World Kindness Day today, we are celebrating all our great charity and community work across the business. So far this year we have:   ✨ Raised over £3,300 (and increasing) for our corporate charity, Stop.Breathe.Think, who provide free counselling sessions to young adults and children. We’ve organised and supported company-wide awareness days and events, as well as local team events including a Mount Snowden climb, thrift and bake sales. This means 112 young people now have instant access to vital counselling services. ✨ Completed 225 days of local charity and community work. We encourage all our team members to take a day a year to give back to their local communities. We’ve seen a variety of wonderful activities across our cities and hubs to back this initiative including litter picking, hospice support, food banks and wrapping donated children’s gifts. ✨ Raised over £60,000 for the British Heart Foundation across our city communities across the UK - donating thousands of unwanted belongings from students via local collections.   We love to offer our support to others – it’s one of our company values. 🌟 We’re excited to officially kickstart our Hello Future Stars development programme 🌟 Our budding class of 2024/2025 includes nine Customer Service Advisors and newly appointed Deputy Multisite Managers with the support of five mentors from across the business.   Over the next year, these talented team members will be working through our comprehensive development programme to help advance their careers. This includes completing job role scenarios, presentation courses, obtaining Level 3 Apprenticeships in Management, 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and regular 121s with a final project task to put their new skills into practice.    We are proud to offer development programmes like these to nurture our growing talent and support our wider ESG initiative, as we strive to be a great place to work. We are delighted that Hello Student® won the Best Student Wellbeing accolade at the Global Student Living awards last night. In Q2 2024, 79% of our students said our accommodation had a positive impact on their wellbeing. This is testament to our hard work and focus on prioritizing the health and welfare of our student customers, introducing various initiatives including:   🌟 Training for all on-site team members in mental health awareness, signposting and how to respond to wellbeing-related incidents. All customers have access to our Student Assistance Programme, a confidential platform available 24/7 to provide access to trained counsellors. 🌟 Appointing Frances Abbott as our dedicated wellbeing manager, who has done a fantastic job overseeing our student welfare services, working closely with local site teams and senior leadership to deepen the level of health and wellbeing support it offers to students. 🌟 A full and refreshed calendar of cultural events to create an inclusive environment with a strong sense of community. 🌟 A comprehensive overhaul of the check-in and summer changeover programme to create a stress-free arrivals process for students. 🌟 The development of a new customer app, making interaction between our teams and customers easier and more convenient.   As a truly collaborative and supportive effort, big thanks to our Operational Risk & Wellbeing team, site teams and all our team members, who continue to drive our safety and wellbeing culture forward.
