Vita Group’s Mark Stott joins the City in celebrating the life of Vita Group’s Non-Executive Chairman Sir Howard Bernstein.   Sir Howard Bernstein was a once in a lifetime character who will be greatly remembered, having played such an important role, both as leader of the Council, and later as non-executive chairman at Vita Group.   His outstanding reputation, decades of experience and relationships have been pivotal for the business in unlocking new cities at home and abroad, including playing a key role in Vita Group’s expansion to Spain in 2019.   Sir Howard’s strategic input into Vita Group’s co-living brand Union helped to make it the compelling proposition it is for councils across the UK. And his ongoing mentorship of people and core business functions such as, planning, brand and acquisitions have allowed us to realise their potential, inspiring them to achieve great things.    Sir Howard’s legacy will live on within our business, he will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting and working with him. We pass on our thoughts and condolences to the Bernstein family.

Cain has provided a £91.5M construction loan to Vita Group for its inaugural House of Social, located in Manchester’s growing academic district on First Street.   Designed to reinvent the traditional student home, House of Social Manchester is the newest PBSA concept by Vita. It will provide 576 beds arranged in four-to-six room clusters, targeting students who crave more social and independent living as they transition to adult life. The loan is Cain’s sixth in partnership with Vita, the second in Manchester and brings the partnership’s total beds delivered to over 4,000 across the U.K. and Europe.   “We believe Cain’s distinctive advantage lies in its partnership model, and we are delighted to extend our relationship with Vita as they introduce a new dimension of student living to the market.
