I had an amazing experience at the Property Week Student Accommodation Conference 2024 at Wembley Stadium! The day was filled with fascinating discussions about the future of student accommodation, including how the post-election government might impact the market, new sustainable housing ideas, and the exciting opportunities ahead for the sector. It was also eye-opening to hear about the challenges facing the industry and how people are working to overcome them. I’m incredibly grateful to the University of Reading for giving me the chance to attend this event and to the Property Week team for organizing it so well. As a first-year student in Real Estate Finance, it was inspiring to learn so much from professionals in the field, and it’s made me even more excited about exploring this industry further! #PropertyWeek #StudentAccommodation #RealEstate #PBSA #UniversityOfReading

As I finish up for the year I’ve been reflecting on the great improvements we’ve made and how we are driving a more inclusive and diverse culture. I’m so pleased that at AtkinsRéalis we weave ED&I into everything we do. It's been a wonderful year in terms of collaboration, allyship & raising the topic on intersectionality (find out more on this podcast: https://lnkd.in/eanPGjmJ ) The year started with the team and I in Project and Programme Services (PPS), coming together in January for a strategy day to plan for the year ahead; and so much has happened since: ✨ We’ve shared amazing stories as part of our ‘This is Me’ campaign – sharing our role models and driving allyship amongst our team. ✨ We’ve worked with our employee resource groups (ERGs) to promote and support meaningful engagement through webinars, events and recruitment campaigns. ✨ We’ve increased our awareness and understanding of different groups and found that this can help support people in both their work life and personal life. Often our lives are interchangeable and so becoming part of the community and being better allies can help us on this journey. ✨ We’ve strengthened our relationships and discovered new perspectives within the organisation through programmes such as reverse mentoring and culture of sponsorship.
