In 2024, our team dedicated over 560 hours to delivering social value. This included mentoring students, providing pro bono support to charities, and engaging with local schools and universities to share our knowledge of architecture and planning. These efforts helped us raise over £10,000 for Chestnut Tree House and Spinal Research and provided meaningful experiences for young people exploring careers in the built environment. As we start a new year, we want to extend a big thank you to our social value champions for driving these initiatives and to the entire team for their time, effort, and passion. We are proud of the impact this work has had on the people and communities around us. Our project on Gilda Avenue in Enfield is starting to take shape.   ECE is working with the main contractor Glenman Corporation Ltd., to deliver 48 apartments and one house in Enfield, North London. The whole project will be affordable housing and transform a former council housing site, featuring three striking building blocks when finished.   Associate Samuel Musgrave went on site last week to check the progress now that the pre-cast concrete frame is complete.    The frame is now being clad with brickwork and internal partitions along with first-fix mechanical and electrical works being undertaken. #ECEArchitecture #affordablehousing #londonresidential

Last week, we hosted the last #WiCS event of 2024 with an evening full of festive cheer and creative ideas. Thank you to Selina Brown and Laughology for the workshop about innovation in the workplace, giving us practical tools for increasing creativity and teaching them not to be afraid of making mistakes along the way. We wanted to also take this time to thank everyone who has supported and attended our #WomenInConstructionSussex events this year. We are already preparing for 2025, so keep an eye out for announcements in the new year!

Well done to the entire team for securing another 237 homes at Mindenhurst Village. Working closely with Cala Group Limited, Associate Sharon Le Goff and the ECE team have played a key role in developing the design, which celebrates the village's military history while adding a modern touch. We are excited to share new photography of the completed Phase 2 of our work at the Chichester College Group MET Central Brighton Campus on Pelham Street. Phase 2 included recladding the central tower, improving the #thermalperformance and safety as well as introducing a visual portal to the high point of the south face of the tower. Using high performance wall insultation and glazing, the project’s #environmental achievements speak for themselves: ✅ Retaining the sub- and superstructure has saved 2,650 tonnes of carbon, reducing the total embodied carbon emissions by the equivalent of heating 980 homes for 1 year. ✅ Fabric-first upgrades and the use of heat pumps have saved 41% in space heating and reduced gas consumption by 33%. The tower's refurbishment has enhanced its safety, ensured its longevity, and re-established it as a key feature in Brighton's streetscape.
