After four years of consultation, collaboration and conversations with local communities and stakeholders, we’re proud to announce the submission of the Hybrid Planning Applications to reinstate Earls Court as a global destination for wonder. Our 44 acre masterplan will come alive with music, arts and entertainment. As central London’s largest cleared development opportunity, this is more than just a construction project—it is the reimagining of an iconic part of London into a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable neighbourhood designed for all stages of life. Earls Court will be a better piece of City, providing a blueprint for future generations as a model for how London can evolve to meet the needs of its residents and address the environmental and societal challenges of the future. With nature as the golden thread, the long empty site will be transformed as a new neighbourhood with c.4,000 new homes and 12,000 jobs set within 20 acres of new public open and green space. It will reflect its legacy as a hub of innovation and entertainment, be a showcase for clean and climate tech with 2.5 million sq ft of workspace and create a new cultural ecosystem for London with three new anchor venues. The development will be served by a next generation net zero carbon energy network and a net zero operational carbon target setting new standards for sustainable development. The vision for Earls Court, as a place to discover wonder, is guided by four place pillars that underpin everything we do: - A celebration of nature and its ability to connect and revive - A showcase for climate and clean innovation - A cultural ecosystem for future talent - An inspiring neighbourhood designed for all stages of life Head to our website to see our plans: www.earlscourt.com Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eQXb6SRc #earlscourt #discoverwonder

Listen to ECDC’s Head of Urban Futures, Peter Runacres, as he takes part in Undaunted: Tackling climate change with innovation’s podcast series ‘Accelerating to a Better Future’, and sets out our ambitions to be a home for the clean and climate innovation sector. In this episode, he discusses the importance of working collaboratively to future-proof our built environment, and how you “don’t need to reinvent the wheel every time. Work with those already making strides and integrate with them.” Peter also explains some of the innovative practices we’re embedding in the masterplan designs at Earls Court and how they will improve people’s lived experiences who spend time in the area. The podcast is hosted at Imperial College London Scale Space by Undaunted and focuses exclusively on clean technology innovations that will help tackle the climate emergency. Listen to all 5 episodes to hear the ‘aha’ moments of leaders from Undaunted’s innovation ecosystem and learn more about the intersection of clean technology and our urban environments. https://lnkd.in/gjztgXEG #earlscourt #discoverwonder #urbandevelopment #netzero #AcceleratingToABetterFuture

10 years ago today, an iconic moment took place at Earls Court when David Gilmour of Pink Floyd stepped on stage to perform with Bombay Bicycle Club at the last ever concert to take place at the historic venue before demolition. Once one of London’s leading locations for performance, music and innovation, we are bringing this unique heritage to the fore once more, reinstating Earls Court as a cultural destination as part of a transformative masterplan a decade on from the last event. The future starts now, bringing spectacle back to Earls Court with performance and entertainment including 'Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular' and 'The Lost Estate' echoing the wonder of the past in the present. Bringing Earls Court’s spirit of creativity to future generations, our plans include three anchor venues within creative clusters, supporting London’s cultural ecosystem, from emerging talent to leading stars. Last night at the Earls Court Project Rooms we held our very own festive event with a reading of ‘Nicky the Gnome and the Lost Socks’ by author Maggie Paczek, hot chocolate and sweet treats from local cafe The Hoarder, a performance from Lights Up Perform along with over 200 children receiving a Christmas goody bag containing a gift voucher and a signed copy of the book. The children that received the presents are part of incredible local organisations the Earls Court Youth Club and Solidarity Sports. Our gifting tree initiative was provided through the support of our consultant team including SQW, CMS, Hoare Lea, Hawkins\Brown, Jones Day, DP9 Limited, WSP in the UK, Mishcon de Reya LLP, GIA Surveyors, Quod, Etude, Rider Levett Bucknall RLB, LCA and Studio Egret West. Thank you to the amazing local youth groups and our team of consultants who helped make this happen. #earlscourt #discoverwonder #christmas

The validation of our net-zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) underscores the responsibility — and opportunity — real estate has in addressing the climate crisis. With the built environment contributing 40% of global carbon emissions, ECDC’s alignment with science-based pathways reflects our dedication to systemic change within the sector. Our targets, including a 50.4% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2032 and achieving net-zero across the value chain by 2050, are designed not just to meet today’s challenges but to shape the future of sustainable urban cities. As part of our commitment, the transformation of Earls Court represents a unique opportunity to lead by example—blending innovative design, environmental stewardship, and community-focused development. It was great to be at the launch of Upstream London yesterday; an important part of the future of West London which perfectly demonstrates the power of collaboration. It is excellent to work with a Borough with such a clear & ambitious focus on delivering economic growth at pace, putting innovation at the heart of everything they do with inclusive growth and creating opportunity for young people within the borough the key to delivering this. We look forward to continuing to work with Hammersmith & Fulham Council as we embed Upstream into our delivery of climate and clean innovation and skills at Earls Court, supporting the growth of the White City Innovation District, incorporating Pathway Bonds and ensuring Earls Court will create economic prosperity and opportunities for the next generation.
Thank you to everyone who attended the launch of the second phase of our Industrial Strategy yesterday – Upstream London. Thank you WEST Youth Zone and Elanor Gunn for hosting. It was inspiring to hear from Sharon Taylor Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Minister of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Hugh Brady, President of Imperial College London, Anna Perdrix Rosell Founder and co-CEO of Sixfold Bioscience and Badriyyah Sodal and Hannah Nakito, two young people who have benefitted directly from our work to date in the Borough. Since 2017, Hammersmith & Fulham have worked with Imperial College London to attract £6bn of high growth business investment and create over 13,000 jobs in the science, technology, engineering, maths, medicine and media industries – the ‘long cycle’ industries, that will shape the future. This huge level of growth has happened so quickly because of our close collaborative working relationships with our partners including anchor institutions, businesses, investors, schools, international growth partners and our community. So it was really great to see many people who helped make this happen at the launch yesterday. Thank you. This launch marked the next exciting phase of our work, Upstream London, working to ensure future economic growth is truly inclusive for all in the Borough, transforming Hammersmith and Fulham into a global beacon of innovation and growth through new initiatives. One being our creation of the Hammersmith & Fulham Upstream Pathway Bond, a groundbreaking initiative giving people a clearer pathway to new careers with more opportunities to develop new skills and networks - delivered because of our close relationships with businesses and with our international partners. I’m especially grateful to all our ‘cooperative growth partners’ who it is a joy to work with and learn from. Thank you Maria Giulia Bufano from the Embassy of Italy MIND Milano Innovation District, Kamil Czyż from Doing Business with Rzeszów, Karen Matthews from RMIT University, Jim Robbins from Swindon Knowledge Central Swindon Borough Council, for attending along with Muhammed Butt, the excellent chair of the West London Economic Prosperity Board. And thank you to everyone who have helped us get to where we are so far. #UpstreamLondon #EconomicGrowth #HammersmithAndFulham #InnovationForAll #WestTechCorridor Andrew Jones Alex S. zarar qayyum Helen Rowbottom Prema Gurunathan (佩娜) John Anderson Professor David Gann CBE Greg Jackson Sophie Devonshire⚡️ Oscar Ces Charles Mindenhall Manoj Badale Josep M. ECDC have just won the New London Award for Meanwhile Projects! Supported by the Mayor of London, these awards honour projects making a positive impact on the city, and we’re thrilled the team has been recognised for all the hard work they’ve put in to bringing the long-vacant site back to life. Since opening up the site we’ve seen over 500,000 visitors pass through the space, spending time at attractions such as Padel Social Club, Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Spectacular and at the urban beach and movie screenings. Our community of creatives, charities and independent businesses in Empress Studios and along Lillie Road are championing local retail and community spirit and bringing a buzz to the area, and The Lost Estate's immersive theatre and food experience is doing the same in West Kensington. Together these activations have created hundreds of jobs and driven millions of pounds of spend into the local economy. And our Community Hub has become a much loved space for local people, hosting dozens of classes and workshops each week as well as the 10th Fulham Scouts. A huge thank you to our meanwhile partners who’ve helped make this possible: National Portrait Gallery, Padel Social Club, Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Spectacular with THE SEELIG GROUP, LLC, The Skills Centre, Incipio Group, Pedal Back Cycling ltd, The Hoarder® Retail Limited, Dads House, Solidarity Sports, The LOWE Group, This Is Projekt Ltd. and The Lost Estate NLA #earlscourt #discoverwonder #meanwhileuse #placemaking #londonrealestate Sian Astrop Jade Barltrop Jamie Hodge
