🚀 Thrilled to share some amazing news! Our work with Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust has been featured in HFMA - a fantastic recognition of the work we’re doing together. We’ve been running a pilot at MSE to reduce DNAs (Did Not Attend) across 11 specialties, and the results show; ✅ an 18.8% reduction in DNAs - and it’s improving week on week. ✅ 4.3x greater patient engagement with text messages compared to traditional two-way communication. In the UK, 12 million appointments are missed, or cancelled under short notice. If we rolled out nationally this could equate to 2.25million missed appointments being filled. As the article says, ‘One of health secretary Wes Streeting’s most pressing tasks is to bring down NHS waiting lists. There’s something stirring in Mid and South Essex that could be a vital tool in winning that battle.’ 🙏 Huge thanks to the amazing team at MSE including Tony Young and Erica White. These results show the potential of partnering with a forward-thinking Trust that’s embracing innovation. PS Check out P18 onwards for the article about Deep Medical.

DM Schedules
Machine Learning Software
DM Schedules is an outpatient flow tool which allows users to easily undertake dynamic scheduling as well as creating lists for human interventions such as telephone calls, to directly reduce DNAs/health inequalities. The easy-to-use web application highlights patients likely to DNA or Cancel Under Short Notice. Administrators can intervene to get these patients in through targeted communications. Messages are logged, the outcomes recorded and passed as actions allowing local booking teams the chance to make the scheduling decisions needed. Unresponsive patients can be backup-booked with patients on the urgent waitlist. This ultra-targeted capacity management solution increases utilisation with existing resources, whilst smoothing patient flow day-to-day for the clinicians. DM Schedules has been shown to release up to £28m a year for one hospital alone while reducing health inequalities. Better for healthcare providers. Better for people. Better for society.

Celebrating the end of the year in style!🥂 2024 has been a year of incredible progress - and we’re looking forward to an even brighter 2025.⭐ 📈Our pilot with Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust has resulted in an 18.8% reduction in DNAs and 4.3x greater patient engagement with text messages compared to traditional two-way communication. 📱We partnered with the pioneers in NHS messaging, Healthcare Communications (Part of Cisco), representing a huge opportunity to deliver personalised and proactive patient communication that’s powered by our AI. 🫶🏽We’re working with Helpforce volunteers at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust to combine our AI with volunteer knowhow and compassion, to help more patients attend their appointments. 🚗And our collaboration with Uber Health is helping to address the transport challenges that are a significant barrier to patient attendance at hospital and clinical appointments. 🎄We wish you all a very happy and restful Christmas break. See you next year!

🙏Thanks NHS Confederation for the mention in this article demystifying AI in healthcare. This article serves as both a jargon buster and a practical guide, showing how AI is being used in real-world settings, from wound care and triage to optimising staff time, cataract treatments and reducing DNAs (Did Not Attends) as seen with Deep Medical (us!). Fantastic to be featured alongside such innovative companies, and proud to contribute to advancing AI in healthcare to enhance patient outcomes. Check out the article here >> https://lnkd.in/e733wzJ5

The Prime Minister's emphasis on reducing NHS waiting lists in today's speech highlights its significance for the nation’s health and the wider economy. Long waiting lists have far-reaching impacts beyond healthcare. Over 2.5 million people were economically inactive due to long-term sickness in 2023, a figure that continues to rise. Prolonged waits for treatment can also lead to patient deterioration, increasing pressure on GPs and A&E services and making health inequality worse. We are committed to supporting NHS Trusts in reducing waiting lists and expanding funded capacity, working together to deliver better outcomes for patients and the healthcare system.
