Congratulations to cohort 8 Clinical Entrepreneur Rohin Vinayak, who has been named Innovator of the Year by NHS East of England for developing the innovative solution CLIP (Clinical Shadowing & Integration Program) for new overseas doctors joining Bedford Hospital NHS Trust. The program provides extensive end-to-end support to new doctors through pre-arrival, arrival, and post-arrival interventions and fosters a collaborative work environment during a new doctor’s first month in the NHS. Empowering Communities: A Midwife’s Mission to Reduce Race-Based Health Inequalities in Maternity Care 💙 Meet Gemma Poole, a registered midwife and CEO of both The Essential Baby Company Ltd and The Essential Baby Co in the Community CIC. She is also the Patient and Public Lead for Deep Medical, a Core 20+5 Ambassador, a Maternity User Researcher, and an Ambassador for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme. Gemma is a lifelong advocate for vulnerable and underserved communities. Frustrated by inadequate and exclusionary antenatal care, she has taken action by creating accessible environments. Gemma develops, distributes, and delivers co-produced inclusive tools to educate, inform, and advocate for underrepresented communities and healthcare professionals. Her ultimate goal is to ensure safer pregnancies and healthier outcomes for everyone, regardless of skin tone, language, education, living status, or economics. Congratulations to all the PitchFest 2025 finalists! 🎉 Rewired PitchFest offers innovative digital health enterprises the chance to pitch their ideas in front of a live audience of NHS leaders, investors, and industry peers. The event will take place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March 2025. We are thrilled to announce that several of our entrepreneurs' innovations have made the list, including: 🌟 Upskill.Health – Founded by NHS clinicians, Upskill is leveraging technology to scale access to quality, on-the-job training for the maternity workforce, everywhere. 🌟 MyOpNotes – A startup on a mission to use technology to automate aspects of clinical coding, increasing efficiency within the NHS. It offers an electronic patient record (EPR) plug-in which enhances clinical coding accuracy and efficiency in surgery. 🌟 ExR - VR Education Platform – Device agnostic virtual reality education platform, ExR co-develops and distributes immersive learning across the NHS accessible on all devices from mobile phones to high-end virtual reality headsets. 🌟 Concentric Health – A digital consent to treatment application. Its cloud-hosted software integrates with EPR systems to transform the consent process by supporting patients to make truly informed decisions about their healthcare. 🌟 Salutare – Co-founded by a professor of hepatology at UCL and a former Microsoft executive, Salutare creates software for healthcare providers to ensure patients do not get lost in the system.
