As the curtains begin to close on 2024 and industry eyes turn to what's to come in the new year, there is an almost overwhelming array of changes and expectations to consider. For us at Bentley, a key focus area is strategic land and its role following Labour's plans to build 1.5m new homes over the next five years. Jonathon Bentley recently caught up with Construction Industry News UK to share his insights on this further, alongside what characteristics and considerations will be needed for a successful 2025. Before you start thinking about maximising the value your land delivers, there’s one thing you need to do. Recognise your land has value in the first place. Only then can, and should, you start thinking about financial viability, cashflow, due-diligence, residual land value, and building a business case. Bentley can show you how. And then support you with everything that comes thereafter. 👉 https://lnkd.in/earY3BJs 👈 Bentley. An end-to-end delivery partner for strategic land development. #ThePowerOfOne #StrategicLand

What’s in store for UK construction in 2025? It is fair to say that 2024 has had its challenges for the UK construction market, with the interest rate situation and the change in government leading to an unsettled situation. Thankfully, after catching up with a number of leading industry figures to get their predictions for the year ahead, the forthcoming 12 months are looking a lot more positive, even if there will undoubtedly be hurdles to overcome in the process. https://lnkd.in/eSf8KyCF

Bentley hosted a book drive this month to support the Children's Book Project. This is a charity that aims to Stop Book Waste and Change Lives by collecting unwanted books which are in good condition and distributing these to the children that need them most via schools and community groups, food banks, prisons and direct to families. 'One in three disadvantaged children across the UK has fewer than ten books of their own at home, and one in ten has none. The Children’s Book Project seeks to tackle book property and to give every child the opportunity to own their own book.' We think this is a fantastic charity with a strong sustainability vision so we were proud to collect up our unwanted children's books, and yesterday Jonathon Bentley and Nina Sanghera delivered them to one of the charity's collection depots. Thanks everyone for your generous donations! 📕 #Bentley #bookcollection #charity #childrensbookproject #sustainability #socialvalue

Bentley is partnering with Harworth Group to deliver a large-scale residential and commercial development on the former Orgreave Colliery site in Rotherham. The project features an Advanced Manufacturing Park, over 2,000 residential plots, a 10-hectare community park, a hotel, a primary school, and the University of Sheffield Advanced Research Centre. Bentley is managing site preparation works, including drainage infrastructure, earthworks, landscaping, and Section 278 and 38 roads. After coordinating consultant designs for planning, we are now overseeing plot-specific and site-wide cost plans to ensure affordability and value for money. 👉 https://lnkd.in/earY3BJs 👈 Bentley. Last week was filled with plenty of Christmas festivities! During our December Company Day, we donned our Christmas jumpers at the office to support our partner charity, Glow, along with donations of selection boxes, gift sets and books. ⭐ After gathering to watch everyone unwrap their Secret Santa gifts, we indulged in our annual festive lunch, featuring lots of delicious contributions from the team. To wrap up the week, we celebrated at the Christmas Party with a lovely meal at Cosy Club in Nottingham, followed by games at Roxy Ball Room. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief as we’ve spared you from any karaoke footage! 🎄 #Bentley #christmas #celebrations #companyday

Earlier this year, the government consulted on the Future Homes and Buildings Standards, aiming to make new homes and non-domestic buildings ‘zero-carbon ready’ by updating Building Regulations Part L 2021. These regulations propose phasing out fossil fuel (gas) heating and hot water systems in favour of more energy-efficient alternatives. Sustainably delivering Labour’s 1.5 million new homes starts with smart strategic land development. For the full story, check out our latest whitepaper. 👉 https://lnkd.in/earY3BJs 👈 Bentley.
