🚨 Report Launch 🚨 Biodiversity Reporting Practices in Switzerland in 2022 🌍 Biodiversity is critical for both business sustainability and human well-being, underpinning ecosystem services that provide water, raw materials, and climate stability. Yet, as biodiversity loss accelerates, the need for businesses to understand and act on their impacts and dependencies has never been more urgent. Our latest report answers pressing questions such as: 🌱 How many of Switzerland’s largest companies include biodiversity in their sustainability reporting? What does this tell us about corporate awareness and action on biodiversity issues? 📊 How in-depth is their reporting? Do companies truly understand their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, or are they overlooking critical aspects? 🔍 What are the key challenges in reporting on biodiversity? Why do companies struggle to integrate biodiversity into their sustainability strategies, and what barriers need to be addressed? 📄 You can dive into the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ehB2bhtW 🙏 A big thank you to all contributors and stakeholders who made this study possible! 📣 💡 Exciting findings alert! We conducted the largest inquiry into what it means to be a CDR startup globally. And we are very proud of the final product. Teaming up with sus.lab | ETH, we dove deep into the world of European CDR startups once again. Our explorative survey of 69 European CDR startups has revealed a movement towards diversified business model strategies. Through follow-up interviews, we gained deeper insights into their strategic adaptations and the reasoning behind these changes. A sneak peek of what we discovered: 🛠 Pursuing the traditional business model of selling CDR credits on the VCM forces startups to vertically integrate multiple activities outside of their core expertise. 🦾 Startups deviate from the traditional business model, often leveraging the strengths of their technologies, to realize alternative revenue streams. 🤝 These evolving business model strategies point to a transition in the CDR market towards more classic B2B market dynamics. ♻ Devising a CDR startup’s business model strategy is a dynamic, ongoing process requiring continuous evaluation and adaptation to the market environment(s). 📢 New Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF Project: FOOD WASTE REDUCTION MEASURES FOR HOUSEHOLDS We just had a successful kick-off meeting with Agroscope for our newest food waste project. Over the next four years we will be investigating: - How much food waste is generated in Swiss households? - What role do actors along the food value chain play? - Which policy measures are most promising for reducing household food waste, and how accepted are they by the public? - How effective are different interventions in reducing household food waste? We are thrilled about this project and the collaboration with Jeanine Ammann and Carole Liechti from Agroscope – together against food waste! 💚 🥕 🥐 🥒🫘 💚 Want to find out more?
