As we wrap up this year, we would like to share some of our participants' journeys! Today, we highlight Cedric Zangger, a participant in our spring cohort, whose innovative project is making a lasting impact. 💡🚀 Cedric Zangger’s project Carbon Valleys focuses on implementing a pyrolysis plant in the Alpine valleys of Uri and Wallis. By using local biomass, the plant will generate heat, power, and high-quality biochar as a carbon sink. This project supports Switzerland’s net-zero ambitions and showcases how regional solutions can drive global impact. 🌍 (Carbon Valleys website: https://lnkd.in/db9cbvYC) 👉 Learn more about the Carbon Removal Booster and how it could support your idea: www.cdr-booster.ch sus.lab | ETH, remove, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Stiftung Risiko-Dialog, Swiss Carbon Removal Platform, Empa, Impact Hub Zürich #cdr #carbonremovalbooster #swissinnovationbooster powered by Innosuisse

Last week, we celebrated our first Innovation & Impact with over 100 amazing CDR enthusiasts 🎉 💹 Hans Westerhof from remove provided us with a detailed exploration of how CDR uniquely differs from other B2B industries—highlighting challenges such as the lack of a clear value proposition, the difficulty of scaling sales, and the absence of direct necessity for clients, along with its implications for market dynamics and business models. 👩🌾 Thomas Käslin from Cotierra shared his journey from finance to founding a CDR startup, providing key insights on the importance of “dating” to find the right partners and embracing the continuous learning process. He highlighted biochar’s potential for climate resilience and its co-benefits for farmers, alongside practical advice on winning over investors. 🚀To cap off their Booster journey, the teams from our first cohort presented their projects, showcasing impressive progress over the past six months. It was truly inspiring to see how much they’ve developed in such a short time! 👏Meanwhile, our newest cohort gave us a sneak peek into the ideas they’ll pursue over the next six months. We can’t wait to see their journey unfold Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to making this event such a success and special thanks to Sophie Führer for leading us through the evening, Aliénor von Roten for sharing the Booster's first-year insights, and Impact Hub Zürich for hosting us! Here’s to driving innovation and making a real impact in the CDR space together 💡🌍 sus.lab | ETH, remove, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Stiftung Risiko-Dialog, Swiss Carbon Removal Platform, Empa #cdr #carbonremovalbooster #swissinnovationbooster powered by Innosuisse (Photos by: Stephanie Wittmer Fotografie https://lnkd.in/gGmkc_zS)
