🌍 ANOVA PEDULI - WE CARE, WE SHARE: Supporting Ternate Flash Flood Victims 🤝 In response to the devastating flash flood that hit Rua, Ternate this year, Anova Food, a subsidiary of FCF, stepped up to provide crucial support as part of its ANOVA Peduli program. 💚 🚨 The disaster, which tragically claimed 13 lives and caused widespread damage, left families in urgent need of assistance. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, ANOVA swiftly organized a relief initiative, delivering essential supplies directly to the affected community. 🛒 📦 Donations included: baby diapers, sanitary pads, bath soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, biscuits, cooking oil, milk, and more, providing much-needed relief to those in the refugee camp at SMK Negeri 4 Rua. Through ANOVA Peduli – We Care, We Share, FCF Group is committed to making a positive impact, providing timely relief to those in need, and empowering communities where we operate. 🌊💙 This year, FCF is honored to support the Seafarers and Fishermen Service Center (SFSC) in co-hosting their annual Fishermen’s Gathering. In addition to our sponsorship, we donated T-shirts for the event. Each T-shirt is thoughtfully designed with a QR code linked to our Worker’s Voice grievance mechanism, empowering crew members to raise concerns and seek support when needed. P.Y. 🌍 ANOVA 2024 Beach Clean-Up: Championing Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Sustainability 🌊 This year, ANOVA, a proud subsidiary of FCF, gathered employees and their families at Mertasari Beach, Bali to tackle coastal pollution. More than just a clean-up, this initiative was a call to action for environmental conservation. 💚 🚮 Results: 10.8 kg of plastic waste collected, sorted, and recycled, with non-plastic debris responsibly disposed of. 🌿 Employees who couldn’t join in person took part by collecting waste at home, amplifying our mission. 🌏 This effort aligns with FCF Group’s continued dedication to protecting marine ecosystems, following successful clean-up projects in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and San Diego, USA. 🌍 Promoting Sustainable Fisheries Practices! 🌊 On September 21st, FCF teamed up with the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) in Mauritius to host the ISSF Skipper Workshop for Best Sustainability Practices! 🎣 We brought together longline skippers to dive into science-based strategies, address key industry challenges, and reinforce the importance of robust management systems. Special thanks to Jefferson Murua from AZTI for leading the discussions as the speaker and to Hilario Murua from ISSF for coordinating this valuable event! 🙌 Our team facilitated a vessel visit, sparking hands-on discussions between the ISSF expert and a longline captain, who received real-time feedback on optimizing sustainable fishing practices. This exchange is crucial for protecting marine biodiversity, ensuring that we reduce bycatch and safeguard vulnerable species while maintaining a productive fishery. Biodiversity plays a fundamental role in ocean health, supporting the balance of ecosystems and the livelihoods of those who depend on marine resources. 🌊 FCF Earns MSC Certification for Sustainable Albacore Fishing 🌊 We’re excited to announce that FCF has received MSC certification for our longline albacore catches in the South and North Atlantic Ocean! 🎣 🔔 In 2022, our 16 Taiwanese-flagged longliners caught 3,545 tons of South Atlantic albacore and 1.6 tons of North Atlantic albacore. We achieved scores above 80 across all MSC principles: sustainable fish stocks, minimal ecosystem impacts, and effective management, with no objections from stakeholders.
