  • We can’t promise a ‘silent night’ this year because we’ve unveiled our 2024 Tuna Lovers’ Advent Calendar and this time…it sings!   • Thank you to Progressive Grocer for awarding our Low-Sodium Solid White Albacore Tuna as an “Editor’s Pick” for 2024! We knew consumers were seeking lower sodium products that still delivered on taste and that’s exactly what we set out to create with this product line. As America’s #1 selling albacore tuna brand, we are proud to say that this low-sodium line was the most successful item launched in the entire shelf-stable seafood category in 2023.

  • We are proud to debut our 2024 Sustainability Impact and Progress Report, “Seafood Future,” our annual report highlighting the sustainability and social impact work completed the prior year, as well as our goals for the future. At Bumble Bee, we are committed to continuing the work that we started years ago, working toward closing the gap on some of the biggest challenges in the seafood sustainability space. A few highlights from the 2024 Seafood Future report include: • We are ranked #1 for having the most Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) eco-labeled products among all shelf-stable tuna brands in the United States. • Our products use 96% recyclable* shelf-stable packaging, which has resulted in 14.3 million estimated pieces of plastic waste avoided in 2023. (*See page 17 in the report for more information including how we define “recyclable”). • We are making substantial progress toward meeting our 2025 goal of having 100% of all seafood sourced be externally recognized as environmentally sustainable, or in a formal program moving towards certification.   • August 5th is National Oyster Day and to celebrate, we’re highlighting our ongoing collaboration with the Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP) as they celebrate their 30th “Pearl” Anniversary this year. In 2023, Bumble Bee’s support helped enable the ORP to plant 5 million juvenile oysters across the Chesapeake Bay’s sanctuaries and public oyster grounds. This initiative is critical for the Bay’s ecosystem, as these oysters will annually filter millions of gallons of water, improving water clarity and quality. Additionally, these thriving oyster reefs provide essential habitat for key species such as blue crabs, rockfish, and perch – enhancing biodiversity and bolstering the local fishing industry.

  • Today we are featuring an employee spotlight from Sofija Kresovich, MBA, our Supply Chain Lead. Read on to learn more about Sofija and her experience working at Bumble Bee. Thanks for sharing Sofija, we're lucky to have you! "Growing up, I enjoyed Bumble Bee tuna every summer in what my grandparents called the “Phillips Special”: a tuna sandwich, macaroni salad, and watermelon after a long day by the pool. I never imagined working for a company that was part of such cherished memories. In 2020, after graduating with an MBA from San Diego State University, where I met Raquel Samawi, a fellow Bumble Bee employee, I started my journey at Bumble Bee Foods during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, a challenging time for Supply Chain. Over the past 4 years, I've held various Supply Chain roles. I began as an intern in Customer Service and Imports and now serve as the Supply Chain Lead in DC Inventory Logistics. My responsibilities include overseeing DC management, operations, and handling financial and project duties. The dynamic nature of my role keeps things exciting with new projects constantly emerging. Bumble Bee’s collaborative and fun culture has been a highlight. We celebrate with desk decorations for birthdays and festive Christmas events featuring a White Elephant gift exchange. The supportive and friendly atmosphere has been crucial to my growth. My advice to new professionals is, “Don’t stress too much; find a company whose values match yours and a culture that supports you. Everything else will fall into place!”
