Congratulations Neoen Australia, on doubling your renewable energy portfolio financing. Westpac is delighted to be one of the lenders, supporting several operational projects and three new projects, including Western Downs Battery Stage 1 in Queensland, Culcairn Solar Farm in New South Wales and Collie Battery Stage 2 in Western Australia. Congratulations Cubico Sustainable Investments on achieving financial close for two project financing transactions for stages 1 and 2 of its Wambo Wind Farm in Queensland’s Western Downs region. Wambo Wind Farm is Cubico’s first operational project in Australia, and Westpac is proud to be one of the banking partners. Once complete, Wambo is expected to help Queensland meet its clean energy generation targets. It will also support the state’s green jobs initiative, creating 200 jobs and supporting economic growth in the region. #sustainablefinance #renewableenergy #ESG #windfarm #projectfinance #energytransition Nell Hutton Alastair Welsh Jon Pooley James Anderson Sub Mukherjee Greg Clark Chris Janes Jason Tranter David Scrivener
We’re delighted to announce the successful raising of project finance for the 252 MW Wambo Stage I and 254 MW Wambo Stage II wind farms in Queensland, Australia! The project, which will feature the tallest onshore turbines in Australia, is already under construction across both stages and will become our first operational project in Australia - a major milestone for our growing portfolio within the country. Developed in partnership with Stanwell Corporation Limited, the project will play a significant role in helping Queensland achieve its clean energy targets while delivering lasting benefits for the region through job creation and our Community Benefit Funds. We’re proud to contribute to Queensland’s energy transition and support a more sustainable future! #Wambo #windpower #energytransition

Congratulations Levande on today completing the largest sustainability-linked loan in Australia’s retirement living sector. This financing will help Levande develop new sustainable retirement villages, which will provide quality housing for the growing number of older Australians. Ensuring older Australians have access to housing solutions where their wellbeing is put at the centre is essential in creating a more inclusive and sustainable society, benefiting both current and future generations. Westpac is proud to be a lead arranger and joint sustainability coordinator of the loan. #sustainablefinance #ESG #retirementliving Nell Hutton Alastair Welsh Greg Clark Chris Cahill Thea Hordern David D. We’re proud to announce that Levande has secured a record-breaking A$1.5 billion Sustainability-Linked Loan (SLL) – the largest of its kind in Australia’s retirement living sector! This innovative financing directly links our pricing terms to achieving ambitious social and environmental goals, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and resident wellbeing. It also aligns with our mission to support Australia’s aging population through the development of new, thoughtfully designed retirement villages. At the heart of this SLL are three transformative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): - Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions – aligned with Science Based Targets for the Buildings Sector. - Sustainable Building Design – embedding sustainable practices in new developments. - Resident Wellbeing – setting higher standards for community health and happiness. Achieving these targets isn’t just a goal; it’s a responsibility. If we meet the KPIs, we benefit from lower financing costs. Falling short increases costs, ensuring accountability at every step. This achievement was made possible with the support of ANZ, Westpac, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia as joint arrangers and sustainability coordinators, and DNV Business Assurance Australia for providing independent validation. This milestone underscores our commitment to embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into everything we do. Together, we’re shaping the future of retirement living for generations to come. The Westpac Consumer Sentiment survey recorded a mixed finish to the year, dipping slightly as renewed doubts about the economic outlook more than offset a continued improvement in family finances and buyer sentiment. Optimism remains elusive says #Westpac Economist Matthew Hassan but conditions are much more positive than a year ago, the mood having lifted materially over the course of 2024. #WestpacIQ #consumersentiment #inflation #housing

For every action, there is a reaction; this applies to economies, too. Looking into 2025, we are expecting three key themes to dominate: Trump's agenda and China's reaction, how economies adjust to high policy rates, and how expansive fiscal policy is managed. Full article: https://lnkd.in/g-C_q8FH
