Can you help us preserve and protect local ecosystems, by improving how we prevent & manage invasive flora & fauna? This open innovation challenge focuses on identifying innovative methods for detecting, containing, and controlling the unintentional movement of Invasive Alien Species (IAS). IAS can significantly impact biodiversity at mining sites through: Movement of goods and materials via maritime, ports, and overland routes, where unexpected plants, animals, or microorganisms may be introduced. Movement and storage of soils, where invasive species like plants or electric ants may be present before operations begin. Site closure and rehabilitation activities, where reworked soils are particularly vulnerable to IAS spread in the initial months. Eramet is looking for scalable, sustainable solutions to address these challenges and protect biodiversity globally.
