We are pleased to announce positive results of a preliminary economic assessment for the Čoka Rakita Project in Serbia, including IRR of 33% and NPV of $588M. The PEA supports an underground mining operation with an 850,000 tonne per annum processing facility and an initial 10-year mine life, and highlights Čoka Rakita’s potential to offer meaningful production growth with an attractive cost structure and very robust economics at a $1,700 per ounce gold price assumption. Based on the positive results of the PEA, Dundee Precious Metals is proceeding with a pre-feasibility study and project permitting activities. Mining has changed from when I was a kid - the trucks are all electric, the control centre has more screens than NORAD, and they map the tunnels with drone-mounted LIDAR. Lots more emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility, community engagement and good environmental outcomes too. One thing hasn’t changed though - it’s great to get out of a suit and meet people who make challenging work look routine.
