  • 1.17 million. 1,170,000. Big number, right? That’s how many abusive comments SocialProtect deleted for our partners and clients in 2024. That’s more than 3,000 per day. Almost 134 per hour. So on average about one comment every 30 seconds. These are comments containing racism, sexually harassing commentary, body shaming, antisemitism, cultural hatred, gambling-related abuse, offensive language, a huge range of scams and a lot of spam. And it’s all gone within a second of it being posted. Our final stat: our partners and clients saw an increase of 21% in the total number of comments received once SocialProtect was connected. Not a decrease. That means a safer, more civil comments section promotes more engagement from a wider range of the community. Join us in 2025 as we continue working towards online spaces where each user is empowered to protect themselves how they want without sharing their passwords. Welcome to SocialProtect!

  • We join our colleagues in the child online safety space calling for the Australian Government to take a breath and listen to those of us working on the frontlines of online abuse. Banning children from social media doesn’t solve the problem. It creates many, many more with potentially dire consequences: for example, the child who is being groomed or horrifically cyber bullied will feel like they can’t bring it up if they shouldn’t have been online anyway. More silence from actual and potential victims is the last thing we need. At SocialProtect we stand for individual empowerment and education, not blanket bans. Giving teens access to SocialProtect not only gives them guardrails that they can control to limit online abuse, it gives on-demand access to online safety and privacy education when they need it most. #empowerdontban

A real pleasure to attend the Ministry Of Sport Playa Power Wellbeing in Sport Summit yesterday. Such a fantastic opportunity to catch up with old and new friends and talk all things SocialProtect I was left with the overarching thought that it’s time for action. Sessions on wellbeing linked to social media abuse show it’s a cross-sport (and all of society issue). Research shows the significance of it. But let’s stop it. We grab the abusive commentary within a second of it being posted and throw it in our SocialProtect Quarantine Zone for our expert team to review, escalate or identify the abuser. So great to see some of the leading voices in wellbeing all in the one room - looking at you Yasmin London and Paula Smith - and all of those working tirelessly to keep players safe and healthy on and off the field: Paul Heptonstall David Gower Simon Roberts Sheridan Hawkins and all the rest I’ve forgotten to tag!

  • We're thrilled to announce a powerful partnership to provide mental health tools and practical solutions to the world.   Peak State Mental Fitness, a world-leading global community promoting mental fitness and resilience has joined forces with SocialProtect.ai, a solution that empowers users to be protected from online abuse and educated about online safety and privacy. This innovative partnership will bring the benefits of tailored mental health training and education sessions together with the tools and advice needed to be safer online. ‘Everyone is struggling with the reality of an interconnected social media landscape.
