This week, our co-founder, Dimitry Tran, had the privilege of joining an esteemed panel at AI+HEALTH, Stanford University’s event on AI in health and medicine. Alongside visionary leaders Enhao GONG, Noosheen Hashemi, and Martin Willemink, MD PhD FSCCT, Dimitry explored the challenges and opportunities in 'The Health AI Entrepreneur’s Journey' session. Here are Dimitry’s top 3 takeaways: ➡️ Diverse Expertise is Non-Negotiable Building a successful medtech startup requires a co-founding team with deep expertise in business, technology, and medicine. Pivots are costly. There’s no substitute for rigorous R&D and domain knowledge to build the right solution. ➡️ Beyond Product-Market Fit (PMF): Focus on Product Go-to-Market Fit (PGTMF) In healthcare, TAM (Total Addressable Market) is vast, but SAM (Serviceable Addressable Market) is shaped by product features—like narrow AI vs. comprehensive AI—and the ability to deliver solutions seamlessly to clinicians and patients. ➡️ The Founder Journey is a Sacrifice Fueled by Purpose Long hours, limited runway, and uncertain outcomes are the norm. What sustains founders is a deep passion for improving lives. Dimitry shared a moving moment from his recent experience hearing Diane Covey, a 69-year-old UK patient, share on the BBC how Annalise.ai’s early cancer detection technology may have saved her life. (Full story here: https://lnkd.in/gUb_8H6J) It was an inspiring session filled with insights, challenges, and a shared commitment to transforming healthcare through #AI.

“I never really understood much about artificial intelligence but now I think that it might have saved my life,” Dianne Covey, Royal Surrey patient. Royal Surrey’s new artificial intelligence (AI) tool identified Dianne's cancer in a matter of hours ⏳️ Diane benefitted from the technology after she was referred for an X-ray by her GP due to a persistent cough. The AI tool analysed her chest X-ray and flagged her as an urgent case. This technology is being rolled out in five NHS Trusts that are part of the Surrey, Sussex and Frimley Imaging Network. Despite the rapid proliferation of AI in healthcare, the industry has been slow to agree on how to assess the quality of #AI models. Now, some of the biggest health systems band together to test and publicly rank top AI models. Emory Healthcare, the radiology departments at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Washington, and the American College of Radiology, led by Mass General Brigham, will evaluate nine Generative AI models. These include products from Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpenAI, and Harrison.ai. Ultimately, the health systems will create a “leaderboard” of tools, according to Dushyant Sahani, professor and chair of the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington. We at Harrison.ai are delighted to be part of this pioneering journey. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dKtND-nf Know more about Harrison.rad.1 here: https://lnkd.in/gx27bNxM
