  • We love working with the awesome team(s) at SA Power Networks and Enerven across their world-class drone operations. We previously spoke with Marcin (CRP) about his experience with FlyFreely, and he had this kind words to say: 💡 “There are two different business units within our operations, FlyFreely allows us to operate both under the one login, allowing us to run reports from across the company with the click of a single button.” 💡 "“Having the ability to download everything we need onto a tablet or phone, complete the checklist and then re-upload it when we’re back in range was the biggest driver behind our switch to FlyFreely.” 💡 "If there’s an issue with one of our aircraft, the platform also enables us to clone the job and deploy another crew, without needing to spend 15 minutes filling out a mission that’s already been completed,” We are excited to continue working with Marcin and the ENERVEN and SAPN teams as they ramp up more and more leading edge drone capabilities! If your company drone team operate offline and are looking to simplify how you run drone missions - reach out to our team for a discovery or proof-of-concept session today.

  • In Ex-CAT - who is liable as the operator? There has always been a ‘grey area’ when it comes to deciding to operate under the Excluded Category (Ex-Cat) rules or in the Included Category (ReOC) or both. The rationale for using Ex-Cat has typically been “less compliance, means less paperwork, which means more efficient operations”. But is this actually true? This clip comes from our recently webinar interview with Drone Lawyer, Tom Pils, where we were lucky enough for him to unpack what it actually means to operate in Ex-Cat from a regulatory and civil liability perspective. • Can the Chief Remote Pilot (CRP) be from outside the organisation (i.e. outsourced)? Well... For context, the CRP is a key individual responsible for the safety of an organisation's drone operations. While the regulations specify the responsibilities and qualifications of a CRP, they do not explicitly state that the CRP must be an employee of the ReOC holder. Therefore, it IS possible to have an outsourced CRP, provided they meet CASA's requirements and can fulfil their responsibilities effectively. Some factors that would go into determining if the individual can meet their obligations would be the number of organisations they hold the role of Chief Remote Pilot with and the volume of Remote Pilots under their control. For example if they were overseeing 10 ReOC's with 200+ pilots in total it would be unlikely they would be able to fulfil their duties for all organisations simultaneously.

  • Most commercial drone users AREN'T dedicated pilots - it's supplementary to their core role. So we've automated a workflow for every type of mission to take out the risk and guess work by... - Allowing only qualified pilots to access specific missions (ReOC, EVLOS, Nights, etc). - Prefilling most of the forms and steps for simpler, repeatable missions. - Auto-rules checker alerts to make sure each mission meets the conditions. - Auto-logging of flight activity for maintenance hours. - Auto-sync flight logs - to catch all data and make sure nothing is missed. Check the quick 5-min demo click through to see how: https://bit.ly/3VIPVKJ Or message us if you're looking to test a specific mission you have in mind!

  • Keith Thomas & The EPE team do incredible work providing solutions and support to Defence Forces, Law Enforcement, and other government agencies. So receiving this feedback from Keith was very special for us: "I recently completed my CRP assessment with CASA, and the documentation generated by the FlyFreely platform played a significant role in streamlining the process. The detailed and professional reports provided by FlyFreely meant my interview time was greatly reduced, and the feedback from the assessor was overwhelmingly positive. I highly recommend FlyFreely for anyone looking to simplify and enhance their compliance journey." We look forward to seeing and supporting all of EPE's success in 2025! For those looking support to complete their CRP assessment with CASA - reach out to our team to see how we can help.

  • Chief Remote Pilots (CRPs) are always on the move - so why not manage everything in our field app... CRPs are responsible for their drone program, so they need to be across their team's missions. The trouble is, CRP are busy people, they are always on the move and even flying missions themselves. This is why we have developed the most comprehensive field app on the market - allowing CRPs to: - Review Missions (and all forms submitted) - Check Airspace (with auto-rules checker) - Perform automated airspace flight authorisations All from the palm of your hand. • Katie from Landcare is doing some incredible work with drones (and Koala conservation) across Australia. On top of managing incredibly unique program, she had these kind words to say about FlyFreely's involvement in the program. This clip is from our recent webinar, we were lucky enough to be joined by Landcare Australia’s CRP, Katie Selhorst, who is leading the WildSeek program to discuss how she is managing their cross-state program, what the journey has been so far, and what is planned for the future! • Earlier this year we were lucky enough to sit down with Rob Keane, the Chief Remote Pilot at Flinders University. Rob managers an eclectic range of drone mission types that supports Flinders and their student research projects. During the session, Rob was kind enough to share his feedback on FlyFreely. He had these points to make: 1.) “FlyFreely can handle all of our different types of drone mission. We can do simple & easy, but also go for the more complex payload flights. We now have the ability to differentiate who can fly what and where. It's become invaluable." 2.) "The mobile field app means that I can see almost in real time what's going on when people are out there flying. Which is very important in my role". 3.) "We can see when a drone is not serviceable anymore and immediately we start to put things into action... We can keep all the records in the FlyFreely system so we are across everything" For more information on Rob's unique use case operations and extensive experience, check out our website for the full interview. #drones #uav #rpas #universities

Landcare Australia's WildSeek program was presented with a very unique challenge of coordinating 5 Chief Remote Pilots (CRPs), 5 drone teams across 5 regions in 3 different states... How did they manage this? What did the first stages look like? and what did they do to set the program up for future success and growth? For our recent webinar, we were lucky enough to be joined by Landcare Australia’s CRP, Katie Selhorst, who is leading the WildSeek program to discuss how she is managing this, what the journey has been so far, and what is planned for the future!
