Landcare Australia's WildSeek program was presented with a very unique challenge of coordinating 5 Chief Remote Pilots (CRPs), 5 drone teams across 5 regions in 3 different states... How did they manage this? What did the first stages look like? and what did they do to set the program up for future success and growth? For our recent webinar, we were lucky enough to be joined by Landcare Australia’s CRP, Katie Selhorst, who is leading the WildSeek program to discuss how she is managing this, what the journey has been so far, and what is planned for the future! As a pilot, I can't stress enough how crucial it is to nail that perfect landing! 🛬✨ Butter landings may look smooth, but they can lead to longer stopping distances and increased wear on the brakes. On the flip side, hard landings might jar passengers, but they can provide better traction on wet runways. The key is finding that sweet spot – firm yet controlled. What's your take on this? Have you experienced any memorable landings as a passenger? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #AviationSafety #PilotLife #LandingTechniques #FlightCrew For more such content follow Aviatryx

🔬 Comparing ForeFlight Performance Profiles! 🛩️✈️ Started with a full tank on a Cirrus SR22 for a ~2-hour best economy cruise. ForeFlight default profile guessed 📉 24.5 gallons, while my custom profile (based on the POH) estimated 26.1 gallons. 📊 After the flight, topped off with 25.2 gallons. 🔄 Both estimates were within 2 gallons of actual use! #PilotLife #AviationExperiment #ForeFlight #FuelEfficiency #Cirrus ✅ Like this video? ✈️ Understanding #Ground #Effect: Key for Safer Takeoffs & Landings! 🌍 Ground effect – the boost pilots feel when flying close to the ground – is a game changer, especially up to one wingspan above ground! It enhances lift, reduces drag, and smooths transitions during takeoff and landing. But beware: excess speed can make your aircraft “float” over the runway, delaying touchdown. Low-wing planes feel it more than high-wing ones, and it can even impact your airspeed reading! Mastering ground effect isn’t just about smoother landings; it’s about confidence and control for every pilot. 🛫 #AviationSafety #PilotSkills #GroundEffect

Prior planning and preparation is key to any UAV operation.
Day 4 at Ulendt.no Preparation is key for any successful operation, and today, we dedicated our efforts to testing the flight path for the upcoming rescue exercise scheduled for Saturday at Leirdalsbu. Utilizing our trusty DJI Flycart 30, we simulated the challenging 5.4-kilometer route through the rugged terrain of Leirdalen. This exercise allowed us to assess the drone's performance and identify potential obstacles or areas of concern along the flight path. By meticulously planning and testing the route in advance, we aim to ensure a smooth and efficient execution during the actual rescue operation. In addition to our rigorous preparations, we underwent a routine inspection by the Civil Aviation Authority Norway. Their thorough evaluation of our equipment, procedures, and documentation is a testament to our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. We are pleased to report that everything checked out satisfactorily, further reinforcing our dedication to excellence. As we approach the rescue exercise, we remain focused and determined, drawing confidence from our extensive training and the capabilities of the Flycart 30. Our team is well-prepared to tackle any challenges that may arise, ensuring the successful completion of this critical mission. #ulendt2024 #djidelivery #flycart30 Foto: Jørgen Hauge Skogmo

Do pilots know how to fly planes? Yes of course they do, and usually they’ve performed countless take offs and landings. So why do they still use a simple pre-flight checklist ? Checklists are a remarkably simple yet effective tool for reducing failures, improving quality and achieving consistent results. In the Checklist Manifesto, Atul Gawande, describes how professionals deal with the increasing complexity of their responsibilities. These responsibilities often have high consequences for failures. It’s natural to think that as an experienced professional you know what you are doing, and have no need for checklists. I believe that’s a mistake, why not stack the odds in your favour and use a checklist as a simple tool, not only reduce the chance of errors, but also to free up valuable mind space. Tip: There's something very satisfying about ticking off actions, whether you do it physically or electronically.

So many reasons to love what I do! Below are just a few.
Check out why this spot is totally my go-to for flying fun! 1. Daytona Beach International Airport is practically a hop, skip, and a jump away at just 0.2 miles! 2. Emory Riddle Flight School is right around the corner at 0.4 miles - talk about convenience! 3. Want to soar high? Leading Edge Helicopters Tours is a mere 0.1 mile away for some epic adventures! 4. We've got our COA locked in at 150 feet - sky's the limit, literally! 5. Hanging out and making beasties with the awesome crew at Air Traffic Control - they're the real MVPs! 👍 When you're flying with us at Aerial Innovators, every day is a great day to take to the skies! #construction #aerialadventures #aerialinnovators #justgettingstarted
