Brisbane Racing Club hosts glamorous race days, functions and events at Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses.

About us

As the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland, the Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) conducts 70+ race meetings and hosts over 200,000 patrons each year. Race meetings are conducted at the club’s two racecourses, Eagle Farm and Doomben. The Brisbane Racing Club also hosts many other feature racing events including Girls Day Out (March), Mekka Wednesday (August), Country Music Raceday (September) and Melbourne Cup Day (November). The Brisbane Racing Club launched a concept master plan in 2009. The $1.2 billion self-funded development proposes upgrades to facilities at both Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourse as well as a variety of lifestyle, residential and commercial precincts. One of the biggest developments in Queensland’s history, the primary focus of the concept master plan is to ensure Brisbane has the country’s finest racing facilities. Highlights on the racing calendar include the Stradbroke Season (May/June), Spring Carnival (Oct/Nov) and Summer Carnival (Dec/Jan). These racing events feature black-type races attracting wide interest from the public, media and industry. The Stradbroke Season consists of 6 feature meetings from May to June. Each year this racing extravaganza brings some outstanding proven racehorses from all states and New Zealand to compete with the very best Queensland horses. The major events on the racing calendar are the Doomben 10,000, Doomben Cup, Queensland Oaks, Kingsford Smith Cup, and Queensland's most prestigious race, the Stradbroke Handicap.

  • Introducing Nemo! Brisbane Racing Club's very first off-the-track thoroughbred. Thanks to the generosity of BRC Members, we have taken part in sponsoring retired racehorse, Nemo, through the funds raised from a Saddle Cloth Auction held on Sky Racing Guineas Raceday. The saddle cloth initiative also honoured BRC Members by proudly displaying their names on the cloths used in Race 5 during Sky Racing Guineas Raceday. After a racing career in New South Wales and Hong Kong, Nemo is on a new adventure in Mount Samson with Life with Horses, where he will play an important role in supporting therapeutic programs. We are excited to share in Nemo’s journey with our BRC Members and the wider BRC community.

      +1
  • Vale Pat Duff. The Brisbane Racing Club has dedicated Race 6 at today’s XXXX Country Finals Raceday in honour of late Hall of Fame trainer and one of racing’s true gentlemen, Pat Duff. Trainers will provide a guard of honour for the field as they head out onto the track, who will be led by Jim Byrne wearing the Duff racing colours, given Jim formerly apprenticed under Pat. A moment of silence will be held pre-race in Pat's memory. Through an illustrious training career that spanned more than 60 years, Pat’s contribution to not only Brisbane racing, but to the whole of Queensland, cannot be overstated. His legacy will continue through the horses he trained, people he mentored, and lives he touched throughout his life. Pat will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by those fortunate to have known him. The Brisbane Racing Club sends its sincere condolences to the Duff family.

  • This week, the Brisbane Racing Club hosted Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner, for the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust Christmas appeal initiatives. On Wednesday, we were joined by more than 30 volunteers at Doomben to pack toys donated to the Christmas Appeal. These toys will be delivered to families in need, to go towards some festive cheer this holiday season. On Thursday, we welcomed the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress and 200 attendees to the Christmas Grant Round Presentation, where a record total of charities were awarded with donations. The BRC continues to be a proud partner and supporter of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust.

  • Despite the heavy rainfall turning Tattersall's Raceday at Doomben into a quieter affair last Saturday, the excess food prepared for what was expected to be a bumper crowd has not gone to waste.   Over 250 sandwiches, wraps, and bakery items were donated to Rosies: Friends on the Street, supporting their vital work in bringing the benefits of community and friendship to those experiencing homelessness, loneliness, or social isolation.   The BRC hopes this humble contribution can provide comfort to the Rosies community.

  • This morning, the Brisbane Racing Club staff paused for a minute's silence to remember those who have served throughout all wars and conflicts. We are proud to acknowledge our historical contribution to the war effort, particularly during World War II. From late 1941 to 1945, Eagle Farm's 'Camp Ascot' served as a vital stopover for United States troops en-route to the War in the Pacific. At BRC, we continue to remember and respect the sacrifices made by so many in service to our country.
