PrivABoo: Unlocking Transformative Opportunities & Reaching New Milestones In November 2024, GreenTec Capital Partners, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and Scio Network joined forces to bring eight European investors to Nairobi, Kenya, for a firsthand experience of Africa’s dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem. This event was organized in the framework of GIZ’s Private Adaptation Investment Bootcamp (#PrivABoo), an initiative of the German federal government (#BMZ) aimed at mobilising investment in private sector solutions for climate change adaptation and resilience.  From dynamic company visits to networking at the #AVPAConference and #AngelFairAfrica, the trip was packed with insights, pitches, and partnership exploration. Local investors and venture capitalists also joined the sessions, bringing invaluable regional perspectives, market insights, and a shared enthusiasm for driving innovation and impact in Africa.  💬 "The investor trip to Kenya highlighted the immense potential for growth and impact here. 🌍 What is Article 6.4? Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement is a revolutionary step in global climate cooperation. It establishes a new UN-supervised international carbon market, designed to help countries and private entities achieve emissions reduction targets in a cost-effective and sustainable way. This centralized mechanism builds on the lessons of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) while introducing stricter safeguards and broader applications. 🔑 Key Features: • Carbon Credits (A6.4ERs): Projects generate emission reductions that are issued as credits.
