We recently participated in the “Future of Work” workshop organised by the Universität Erfurt in collaboration with University of Indonesia and Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS) on 23 July 2024. During the workshop, we delivered an intervention highlighting the importance of exploring new norms and standards that define ‘Decent Work,’ considering the rapid technological advancements and twin transitions we are experiencing today. The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the Government of Indonesia, labour unions, academia, and tech companies. Kudos to the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt for initiating this crucial discussion on the evolving dynamics of the world of work!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Director Ahmad Zafarullah Abdul Jalil of The ASEAN Secretariat for a continued collaboration in shaping an inclusive, future-proof, and sustainable ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Post-2025 Agenda. The European Union and ASEAN (The ASEAN Secretariat) have committed to "enhancing connectivity within and between" their regions, with a strong focus on sustainability, climate action, digitalisation, and gender equality. Intra-regional mobility and people-to-people connections are key strategies for fostering community building in Southeast Asia, as outlined in the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025. Obviously Sustainable Sustainable is excited to announce our recent collaboration with Nuffic Southeast Asia and DAAD German Academic Exchange Service on developing a Baseline Study for the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE) in Higher Education. This study aims to establish a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape of academic mobility within ASEAN and between ASEAN and the EU. Thank you, Nuffic Southeast Asia for the collaboration!

Books and other forms of literature are windows to the world. Digitalised literature serves as gates, offering expanded access to vast amounts of knowledge. We are immensely grateful to embark on a new journey with Aksaramaya, Indonesia’s leader in the digital transformation of public libraries. Thanks to them, over 230 cities across the Indonesian archipelago have gained access to digital libraries. Can you imagine children in the highlands of Papua having the same access to literature as those in Java? That’s our mission! Throughout the year, our partnership will focus on expanding the impact and reach of Aksaramaya to serve Indonesians, especially the underserved, enabling them to access better information and knowledge for a promising future. We stay true to our goals to realise that - Everyone has the right to live an enjoyable, prosperous, and promising life. #DigitalTransformation #Aksaramaya #PublicLibraries #EqualAccess #KnowledgeForAll #InclusiveEducation
