Hellenic Community for Pulmonary Hypertension is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 with the aim to bring together all patients around Greece. It is the first Greek PH association with European specifications. HPH was created with the initiative of patients suffering from Arterial Pulmonary Hypertension * (PAH) for their valid update regarding the disease around the world since the general and Hellenicknowledge on subjects relating the disease is limited so to bridge the gap of information for all parties with PH involved globally. It is aimed at patients with PH, their relatives and carers to enable them to participate in activities and actions relative to mutual help, mutual support and care throughout the whole of the Greek territory. It seeks the broadest intervention to raise awareness, for the education and information of the public, for the prevention and early diagnosis of PH. The main targets of the association are the defence of PH sufferers in the Greek territory, safeguard their interests as well as the best quality of life for themselves and their families through the development of social and psychological programmes, the prevention of economic and psychological depression as a risk factor of the disease and the support of the PH patients in every possible way. * Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a rare lung disorder in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery rises far above normal levels.
