Last week, Modest Tree CEO Emily Smits CPA,CMA, PMP joined Canadian marine industry leaders at Seaspan ULC's Vancouver Shipyard to meet and discuss strengthening Canada’s shipbuilding supply chain. Thank you to the Canadian Marine Industry and Shipbuilding Association (CMISA) for helping to coordinate the Canadian CEO tour and Seaspan for hosting.
Last week, a group of Canadian CEOs at the forefront of Canada’s marine industry gathered to tour Seaspan ULC's Vancouver Shipyard and meet with the company’s CEO, John McCarthy. They discussed the importance of a strong supply chain to Canada’s fleet construction and sustainment capability while agreeing that one of Canada’s fundamental strengths is collaboration. Combined, our companies represent thousands of Canadian workers and deliver considerable economic impact in every province. For many of us, growth has been fueled by opportunities created at home under the National Shipbuilding Strategy. With NSS momentum achieved and ship production now fully underway, we are ready to work together to ensure Canada’s marine sector remains strong while also supporting partners and allies around the globe. Special thanks to the Canadian Marine Industry and Shipbuilding Association (CMISA) for helping to coordinate the Canadian CEO tour and to Seaspan for the very warm welcome. Tours will continue with visits to other shipyards and government leaders in the coming months.
