September 15-21 is Balance Awareness Week, and it's a reminder of just how important balance is in our lives. Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) created this awareness campaign to highlight often invisible balance disorders. Bringing awareness can lead to quicker and more accurate diagnoses which can lead to an improved quality of life. (source: vestibular.org/BAW) As a dancer, I know firsthand how challenging balance can be—especially after struggling with my feet and losing my balance more often. Last year, while turning, I fell and broke my wrist. Ouch! We often focus on cardio, strength, and flexibility, but forget how critical balance is. What do you do to work on your balance? I’ve been adding simple exercises to my routine to keep myself grounded—literally! #balance #BalanceAwarenessWeek
