Today is another day on my 1000-day fire dancing journey and I’ll be honest—it’s not always easy. Some days, I’m fully charged, ready to train for hours, pushing the boundaries of what I thought I could achieve. Other days? The motivation just isn’t there. Fire dancing is a beautiful art, but just like anything it demands consistency and resilience. There are days when I nail a new move, and it feels like I’m on top of the world. Then there are those tough sessions where nothing seems to click, and frustration sets in. But that’s the journey, isn’t it? Growth isn’t linear, and every challenge is a lesson in patience, commitment, and self-belief. I’m here for the full experience, embracing every spark, every drop of sweat, and every moment of doubt. 🔥 Here’s to anyone out there on their own path, whether it’s in fire dancing or any other passion. Keep going, even on the hard days—it all counts in the end. 🌟 #GrowthMindset #Persistence #PerformingArts #Practice

Whether you've never danced before or it's been years since you've put on your dancing shoes, we know that the hardest part of your dance journey 👣 is your very first step. Learning to dance shouldn't be intimidating. It should be fun, easy, and make you feel confident that you can learn how to dance. Being a beginner shouldn't stop you from starting. ✨️ In fact, every one of our students and instructors started as a beginner. Even ✨️Fred Astaire ✨️ had to learn which foot to use first. And don't worry about feeling rusty. You'll get in the swing of things faster than you think. We are proud to continue Fred Astaire's legacy by bringing ballroom dancing to our community through 🎉 fun and 🪄 easy instruction. Our professional instructors are trained and certified to ensure you have the best experience possible. It's one of the things that sets our studio apart! Let us help you to achieve the things you've only dreamed about. Take that first step (or two 👣) onto the dance floor, and make the impossible a reality. Pivot My year of teaching ballroom dancing meant I knew more about ballroom dancing than most of the folks at the dance. Our friend, Darry, had been taking lessons for years, so when a particular dance called the Quick Step started playing, he singled me out for the dance. We were the only ones on the dance floor, and Darry gave it all he had. Full confession: the only thing I really knew about the Quick-Step was how to spell it. I did what I learned to do, I didn’t quit. I didn’t think about it. I didn’t analyze it. I didn’t fret about it. I just danced. Okay, if you know anything about Quick Step, I really ran. I ran. I pivoted. I just kept going. After the dance ended and I recovered from all that running in 3 ½ inch heels, I felt accomplished. I had done something I didn’t know how to do and had never done before. Yes, I had to trust Darry to lead, but I had to step. My friend Natalie once told me that sometimes you have to learn to fight backward. The experience with the Quick Step taught me that truth. You have to be willing to adjust to what comes at you – even if that means running around the dance floor or fighting backward. Instead of stressing out about what you don’t know, lean in and pivot to what you do know. # # # Where do you need to learn to fight backward? #QuoteoftheDay Pivot. Learn to fight backward. Do something. Just don’t quit. - Kathryn Lang

Something you may not know about me is that I love to dance. I do West Coast Swing dancing! It fills my cup and makes me feel like I can take on the world. When I’m dancing, I forget about all my problems and lose myself in the music, movement, and rhythm that is DANCE. I absolutely LOVE it (the sheer joy on my face in the video below can attest to this). I went to New York a few weeks ago for my SECOND official competition and … (**drum roll please**) I made it to the Finals! I was unbelievably proud of myself for getting to Finals, and I didn’t want to stop there. My goal this week is to make it to FINALS. Go big or go home right?? In chronological order, my goals are as follows: 1. Make the finals 2. Place top 5 3. Place top 3 I’m working hard to achieve these goals because it’s challenging me to be better and do things that, 10 years ago, I could never have imagined myself doing - like mastering precise techniques. If you know me, you know I love a challenge. So here’s how I’m tackling this one: ✅ I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone and taking on harder and faster dances. ✅ I’m dancing with a variety of partners to learn how different people move. ✅ I’m watching videos of professional West Coast Swing dancers to try to pick up some of their moves. If you have any tips on how I can achieve this goal I’d love to hear them! Are you looking to achieve any goals this summer? Share in the comments below!
