Harnessing Data for Impact: The Role of DRS in the Great Green Wall Initiative 🌍 I’m excited to share insights on how the Data Reporting System (DRS) can transform our approach to monetary tracking and evaluation within the Great Green Wall initiative, especially for empowering women and children. 🔍 Why DRS? The DRS is more than just a data collection tool; it’s a powerful mechanism for ensuring transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making. By prioritizing women and children, we can create targeted interventions that lead to sustainable change. 💡 Key Benefits: Real-Time Financial Tracking: With DRS, we can monitor budget allocations and expenditures in real-time, ensuring that resources are directed where they are needed most—empowering women and enhancing children's education and health. Gender-Sensitive Indicators: The system allows us to develop specific indicators that measure the impact on women and children, providing valuable insights into their access to resources and participation in community initiatives. Impact Visualization: Utilizing visualization tools, we can easily communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering greater collaboration and support for our programs. Community Engagement: By involving women and youth in data collection and analysis, we strengthen their capacity and ensure that their voices are heard in shaping policies and programs. 📈 A Call to Action: Let’s leverage the DRS to create a more inclusive and effective approach to the Great Green Wall initiative. Together, we can drive meaningful change that prioritizes women's and children's needs, ensuring a greener and more sustainable future for all. 💬 Join the Conversation: I invite fellow professionals, advocates, and stakeholders to share your thoughts on how data can empower communities. How can we further enhance our approaches to ensure that women and children are at the forefront of our initiatives? #GreatGreenWall #DataForChange #WomenEmpowerment #ChildrensRights #Sustainability #MonitoringAndEvaluation

📕 I mentioned I have been reading Data Feminism by Catherine D'Ignazio and Lauren Klein to understand how we can be more intentional when using data, especially in the Impact world when it comes to Monitoring and Evaluation. 👥 I feel very strongly about participatory methods, where the community that impact projects are meant to support are included throughout the implementation and assessment phases. 💡 This idea of 'co-liberation' goes beyond collaboration, to help not just allow people to participate, but also to let the community own and drive the projects and how the data is collected, used and shared. I can't wait to put this into practice in projects next year! #impact #impactmeasurement #participatoryprocesses #community #pmerl

This month, 7 amazing mission-driven organizations completed our training program Lean Impact for Scale, an initiative funded by Forward Global and Pivotal Ventures. This edition was specifically aimed at organizations dedicated to addressing #GenderEquity issues within the U.S. 🇺🇸 It was designed to build their scaling strategies and iteratively develop or refine interventions for scale. Why this focus❓In 2022, women’s median weekly earnings were 82.3% that of men. Persistent pay gaps and unequal caregiving responsibilities lead to lower lifetime earnings, limited wealth, and financial insecurity for women, which are even more pronounced for Black and Latina women. Over the course of 10 weeks, they received support to: ☑ Define their scale strategy, identifying viable partners and payers. ☑ Learn how to de-risk uncertainties by testing with communities, partners, and payers. ☑ Use data-driven insights to improve their strategy. ☑ Develop a roadmap for continuous testing and improvement. It's December which means throughout the month, we’ll be reliving our highlights from the year, including publications, learning and celebrating partners old and new in our 2024 Month of Impact! 🎄✨ And for our first day, we're revisiting our E4P project! Supported by Youth Futures Foundation, E4P examined the knowledge, practice, and views on the collection and use of demographic data in the UK youth sector. Centralising the voices of young people and practitioners throughout, our seminal report ‘Inclusive or Intrusive?’ investigated ingrained data collection processes, the purpose they serve, and the impact this has on those involved. A first of its kind and - we hope - the start of a much-needed conversation around power, data and equity. At WoMen in Finance Belgium, we strive to create meaningful spaces where women can connect, share, and grow together. One participant shared their experience from our recent Imposter Syndrome workshop, and it really stuck with us: “The imposter syndrome is very real for many women, including myself. This workshop is so valuable in recognizing the signs, sharing and hearing stories from others, and learning about strategies to deal with it. What helped me personally is to identify the emotions the syndrome triggered and how to use these to discover my underlying self-limiting beliefs.” Imposter syndrome doesn’t discriminate—it affects both men and women—and overcoming it requires intentional effort. Workshops like ours go beyond just checking the box. They’re about honest conversations, practical tools, and building a community where no one feels alone in their challenges. 🌱 We’re incredibly thankful for the trust and openness of our participants, and we’re looking forward to continuing these important discussions in our 2025 webinars. 💬 💡 Want to join us? Stay connected for updates on our upcoming sessions—we’d love to have you in the room. #ImposterSyndrome #AuthenticConnections #ProfessionalGrowth #Empowerment

🚨 New report – join us at 15:00 today for the launch event! We've been working in partnership with Impact on Urban Health to explore the relationship between digital inclusion and health. Over the past two decades, social, economic, and technological norms have transformed how people in the UK are expected to access goods, services, and other life necessities. In our new paper, "Affordable, Accessible, and Easy-to-Use: A radically inclusive approach to building a better digital society", Dominique B. and Anna Dent explain why digital inclusion has come to be understood as a super social determinant of health. They introduce our Social Model of Digital Inclusion and propose that in order to solve digital exclusion, organisations, businesses, and governments must become digitally inclusive by design. Take a look at our key policy recommendations: – Remove economic barriers to inclusion through legislation – Develop and enforce an Inclusive Service Standard – Classify broadband as an essential utility – Diversify the broadband market – Strengthen political leadership on digital inclusion We'll be launching the report TODAY at 15:00 – there's still time to sign-up!
