  • At WoMen in Finance Belgium, we strive to create meaningful spaces where women can connect, share, and grow together. One participant shared their experience from our recent Imposter Syndrome workshop, and it really stuck with us: “The imposter syndrome is very real for many women, including myself. This workshop is so valuable in recognizing the signs, sharing and hearing stories from others, and learning about strategies to deal with it. What helped me personally is to identify the emotions the syndrome triggered and how to use these to discover my underlying self-limiting beliefs.” Imposter syndrome doesn’t discriminate—it affects both men and women—and overcoming it requires intentional effort. Workshops like ours go beyond just checking the box. They’re about honest conversations, practical tools, and building a community where no one feels alone in their challenges. 🌱 We’re incredibly thankful for the trust and openness of our participants, and we’re looking forward to continuing these important discussions in our 2025 webinars. 💬 💡 Want to join us? Stay connected for updates on our upcoming sessions—we’d love to have you in the room. #ImposterSyndrome #AuthenticConnections #ProfessionalGrowth #Empowerment

  • Let’s be honest—facilitating DEI conversations isn’t easy. Whether it’s overcoming organizational resistance, gaining buy-in from leadership, or creating actual inclusive spaces at work, the challenges are real and difficult. That’s why Module 1 of our DEI Facilitator Masterclass starts by focusing on you. As instructor Dominique Bergiers (She/her) puts it: “It’s about looking inwards—your values, biases, and experiences with inclusion and exclusion.” And as Michele Mees adds “Self-awareness is where it all begins. It’s the key to leading impactful conversations.” This module is all about exploring your foundations—your integrity, values, and identity—and using them to strengthen your potential impact as you inspire change in your team. Recently, we organized the last in-person workshop of 2024, and what a powerful way to close the year! Imposter syndrome, a feeling many of us have likely experienced at some point, is that nagging sense of not belonging or being “good enough” despite clear evidence of our achievements. ❗ But here’s the key: imposter syndrome is a feeling, not a reality. ❗ Recognizing it for what it is and understanding its situational nature can make a big difference. Often, it’s shaped by the environment we are in, and certain profiles are more at risk: 1️⃣ The Perfectionist 2️⃣ The Superwoman 3️⃣ The Natural Genius 4️⃣ The Soloist 5️⃣ The Expert This experience can be exacerbated by the minority effect—that sense of not belonging when you feel like the only one in the room who looks, thinks, or acts a certain way. How do we move forward? ✅ Challenge your thoughts through the awareness model: Pause, reflect, and ask yourself—are these thoughts rooted in fact or just a feeling? ✅ Practice micro-affirmations: Small, encouraging words and actions toward colleagues can acknowledge contributions and reinforce belonging. ✅ Create safe environments: Organizations play a crucial role in fostering inclusive spaces where everyone feels like they belong. A huge thank you to all the participants and the incredible animators Michele Mees Pascale Ameye and Sarah Ndayirukiye for their energy, openness, and valuable contributions during this workshop. As we close our in-person events for 2024, we are excited to share that a new series of webinars will soon kick off—stay tuned for updates! What has helped you when facing imposter syndrome? Share your thoughts or strategies in the comments. #impostersyndrome #belonging #mindset #inclusion #financeischanging Nathalie Delaere Claire Godding Mathy Mande Muteba Adèle Warin Wendy Baeyens
