Get this: only 39% of employees believe that their workplace benefits package offers good value. With a global disengagement crisis showing no signs of easing up, workplaces can no longer get away with offering the bare minimum to their employees. Job ads often list ‘bank holidays off’ and ‘competitive salary’ as benefits — these aren’t benefits, they’re basic requirements! As workers (rightfully) demand more from their employers, our ideas of what constitutes genuinely valuable benefits need to change if we’re going to engage our workforces and help teams live happy, fulfilling lives. https://lnkd.in/dz6xdY5H

Employee Benefits Missing the Mark? Nearly half of UK HR leaders admit their workplace benefits aren't being utilsed effectively by employees 500 surveyed HR directors revealed some eye-opening findings: 🚩48% said employees "don't seem interested" in the current benefits on offer 🚩62% agreed the benefits "don't address what people really need" or only cater to part of the workforce 🚩18% said benefits are difficult for employees to access 🚩32% said leveraging certain benefits requires too much effort Despite benefits still being a critical part of the overall employee value proposition, recent data shows 25% of workers want better benefits, and up to 50% would accept lower pay for more tailored perks The survey highlights some key areas where HR teams may be falling short: 1. Lack of focus on real employee needs when selecting benefits 2. Poor onboarding and communication around available benefits 3. Making it too complicated or effort-intensive to take advantage of benefits Jon Rudoe of Nous.co states: "Businesses need to focus their attention and budgets on benefits that actually meet people's needs...None of this is worthwhile unless leaders put real effort into making sure employees use benefits."
