This month our spotlight is on Rick Tobel. Rick is our lead for our Chicago Terminal Barge Cleaning and Repair service. We had a chance to ask Rick some questions…   Q: What do you love most about your job at Middle River? This project has been an extraordinary journey, marked by both its scale and complexity. From the installation of the six massive modules, which required the combined effort of two cranes, to the coordination of over 50 shipping containers filled with equipment and materials, each phase has presented unique challenges. I'm incredibly grateful to my colleague, Jesus Colmenarez, for their invaluable contributions to this project. Their expertise in logistics and supply chain management was instrumental in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Our logistics team played a pivotal role in the success of this project. Through meticulous planning and efficient execution, they ensured that every component arrived on time and in the correct sequence. Their expertise in supply chain management was invaluable in preventing delays and guaranteeing a continuous flow of materials. It's incredibly rewarding to see our plans come to life and to witness the collaborative efforts of our team, from engineering to logistics, in overcoming these obstacles. We broke ground at EastPort Logistics, a multi-phase industrial development in Boise, Idaho, with our joint venture partner One Investment Management!   The project, delivered in two phases, will feature over one million sq. ft. of Class A logistics space designed to meet the growing demand in South Boise. Upon full build out, EastPort Logistics will include seven buildings equipped with 1,300+ car parking spaces, 168 trailer parking spaces and 196 dock doors.    After years of planning, we are pleased to move forward with our partners on this transformative development.
