Skyline worked hand-in-hand with Ironworkers Union Local 63 and Gensler to construct a state-of-the-art training facility for the Ironworkers in the Chicago suburb of Broadview. The hall – which is used to teach apprentices the tools of the trade – features a large, centralized training floor on the ground level with flanking dual mezzanines, as well as a five-ton suspended bridge crane and a 20-foot water chamber. Most notably, the entire east and west sides of the building feature two arc-shaped, 50-foot-tall glass curtain walls, serving as a awe-inspiring showpiece for the ironworkers' craft. Special thanks to Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) and Kelso-Burnett Co. for partnering with us in completing this breathtaking facility.
