I’m heading into the weekend FEELING GRATEFUL & BLESSED. Today, my team and I wrapped up the final workshop of a nearly year-long program aimed at understanding the users of an enterprise B2B platform and creating new capabilities to better serve them. Until now, the team’s work has been done in silos—each app focused only on its own users. But today, we shifted the focus to the users of the entire platform. Our goal was to see the bigger picture and truly collaborate to improve the overall experience of working in this system.   It was incredible to see how this shift in perspective inspired the team. Here are just a few takeaways:  >>> "I’m excited to see us lean into a user-focused approach to future system development.” >>> "I love the many opportunities for collaboration that have been defined across applications.” >>> "We’ve got solid direction forward. I look forward to receiving the summary and making plans for next steps.” >>> "What an energizing process!” I often get asked what I like best about my job. Moments like this—when teams break down silos and embrace new ways of working. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this amazing group! They already have a great platform and what they just created is next level! So much goodness awaits them!

✨ The small things still matter—even in survival mode. ✨ Starting a new role at Microsoft often means juggling two roles—survival mode, or as many call it, “sink or swim.” But even in this mode, the small things you do for your team make a big difference. Here’s what I’ve learned: ✔ Show up when it counts. Go to the holiday party, even if your calendar is full. ✔ Make it personal. For years, I’ve given handwritten cards and my grandma’s seasoned pretzels to my team. This year, it meant waking up early to keep the tradition alive, but it was worth it. ✔ Think global, act local. On a global team, small gestures can scale. This year: • We used Copilot to create a “Holidays Around the World” image to celebrate our team’s diversity. • Leadership ensured everyone could choose a gift through Snappy or enjoy a meal on us. • We expedited Q2 awards to celebrate our winners before the holidays. All of this took ruthless prioritization, but we knew the small things matter just as much as the big rocks. As I wrap up my first month in this role, I’m grateful I kept my traditions and showed my team how much they’re valued. Now, I’m looking forward to a two-week break! 🎉 Yesterday, we had our closing call of our cross-company Job Shadowing initiative with all participants and our three sponsors: David Faller from IBM, Dr. Michael Link from DATEV eG, and Daniel Giebel from T-Systems International.   🚀 Back in July, we kicked off our shadowing initiative, bringing together nearly 50 participants from the three companies. The goal? Cross-company collaboration and knowledge-sharing with people who never met before! 🤝 We paired up colleagues across organizations to foster new connections and insights. 💬 Through regular sessions, they discussed not only professional and technical topics but also broader cross-company themes like “Back to Office” or agile organization models. 🔎 While we spotted some differences – such as in international scale – the overwhelming takeaway was that we’re all tackling similar challenges! 🌟 Several participants expressed their appreciation for the trusted and open exchange, and many are planning to stay in touch, with some even meeting up in person!   A big thank you to everyone involved for making this initiative a success! 🙌 Katharina Lochmüller Birgit Kuhn Anne Rolf #Collaboration #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment #JobShadowing #CrossCompanyExchange
