Happy Saturday! The weekend is finally here. After another busy week, it’s time to shift your focus to what needs attention at home—whether that’s tackling the garage, raking up those fall leaves, or organizing the basement and clearing out what’s no longer needed. But before you dive into your weekend to-do list, take a moment to look back at your week. What are one or two things you accomplished that you can celebrate? Remember, it doesn’t have to be something big to be worth recognizing. Maybe you successfully completed and submitted that report summarizing your team’s performance for the year. Perhaps you had a meaningful conversation with an employee, helping them move forward in their development. Or maybe, for the first time, you spoke up in a team meeting, sharing your insights and perspective. Celebrating progress, no matter how small, is a powerful way to build confidence in your abilities. So as you reflect on the week, ask yourself: What’s one thing you accomplished this week that you can celebrate?

The other night I was reading ‘What you are looking for is in the library’ (you should definitely read it - no spoilers, I promise) and the sentence below smacked me in the face: ‘A parallel career means having two careers that are complementary, with neither being secondary to the other.’ Like the character Ryo, I’d never heard that turn of phrase. But I know exactly what it feels like to live it. I’ve never been ashamed that I have a day job alongside my business - I’ve always felt like my two roles *do* complement each other and give me a really unique perspective. Being Head of Brand and Culture at Metrikus means I can really understand my interlude customer and how they’re trying to look after their teams, while also supporting them to do their absolute best (while ALSO trying to take care of themselves too). Designing and delivering anti-toxic productivity workshops through interlude means I’m always learning new things to share with my colleagues about work, wellbeing and productivity. I’m also very proud of the creativity, fortitude and tenacity that being a founder allows me to bring to my parallel role. All the reading, studying, thinking, exploring, questioning, dissecting and learning comes together for both of them. Some people may think that doing both is committing to neither, but I think it’s my unfair advantage. It’s pretty special way to live and I’m very grateful that I’m able to do it. Because of all that, I only run a limited number of our Anti-Toxic Productivity workshops - but I want to fill every one of them and help as many workers as I can to achieve remarkable things without the hefty personal price tags. 👉 Tag your favourite HR/People/L&D leader - and if *you* are your favourite leader, I would love to learn how I can serve you and your team! Here’s to another remarkable week 🤝

🎉 MyProSkill.Expert Christmas FUN Challenge – 16th Day! 🎄 ✨ "Innovation is seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought." – Albert Szent-Györgyi On December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party made history as a bold and creative act of protest, symbolising the power of innovation and collective action. It showed the world that sometimes, breaking the mold is the first step toward meaningful change. Santa’s team faces the challenge of delivering billions of gifts every year, and innovation is key to ensuring that his sleigh keeps flying efficiently. But innovation isn’t just about coming up with ideas - it’s about working together to find solutions that transform challenges into opportunities. What is the first step to revolutionising Santa’s delivery process this Christmas? 🎄Today’s Christmas Challenge! ✨ If Santa’s team wanted to evolve their delivery process through innovation, what’s the first step? 🔸 a) Brainstorming creative solutions as a team 🔹 b) Avoiding change to stick with tradition 🔸 c) Only focusing on small tweaks without risk 🔹 d) Assigning innovation to a single person 🎁 Drop your answers in the comments below! Innovation thrives on collaboration and creativity. Think about how teamwork and fresh ideas can drive positive changes, whether at the North Pole or in your workplace. 🎄 Now is the time ... Time for teambuilding and reflection 🎄 How do you spend end of the year in your team? Please do not tell me that you focus on getting things done. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not - end of year is time to get together, to celebrate and to reflect. Don't you think? This is how I experienced successful teams at Christmas time: 🎁 Small presents: Secret Santa is a wonderful tradition. There are online tools you could use if your team works remote, even in different countries. The most appreciated gift though, is a "Thank you", coming from your heart. Try it. 🎉 Celebrate: Coming together for a Christmas Dinner is perfect. Remote is also possible, though: Former colleagues of mine used to send cooking ingredients to every team member and one evening, we met online and cooked at the same time. Can you imagine? In other teams I experienced funny online performances. Or just meet and talk. Have fun! 🧐 Reflect: I used to visualize the year I experienced with my teams, highlighting the successes and wonderful experiences as team. Not to forget the ultimate end-of-the-year Retrospective, certainly. Don't forget. 🌟Look ahead: What do you want to achieve in 2025? Start it. What is your best team experience at Christmas time so far? 🎅🎄 Whatever you decide for this year: I wish you and your team(s) a wonderful time full of trust and inspiration. ✨

I recently hosted a 3-Day Virtual Onsite for my team with the following objectives: * Elevating organizational awareness (Just what do those people over there do?) * Team building (Brick-and-mortar structures were not involved) * Fostering self-reflection (What motivates me? What do I value about my job?) * Emphasizing the importance of gratitude and appreciation The schedule looked like this: 4 cross-functional sessions, 2 internal workshops, 3 team building activities, an external guest speaker, a session hosted by my director, and a fireside chat with one of the co-founders. That should cover it, right? With the objectives of the Virtual Onsite focused on intangibles, it will be difficult to measure whether my objectives will be met. Early observations, however, reveal the following: * People are amazingly willing to help achieve a common goal. Asking for help is the hard part. * The level of engagement is directly correlated to the format of presentation / activities. * I work for an organization that absolutely cares about its employees as individuals. * I wasn't prepared for the multitude of joy, smiles, and laughter from my team during these three days. I'm grateful for having been given the opportunity to bring the team together to collaborate, educate, and celebrate. I love my job!

We’re excited to introduce our Team Member Spotlight 🔎 series by highlighting Erin Beck, who joined QT as an account manager one year ago today! 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗻 💭 QT office 🌉 : Portland Joined QT 🗓 : September of 2023 1️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻? My favorite projects have been those that marry two areas I’m passionate about: consumer goods and sustainability. It's like being a part of both input and output; both the before and the after. It's the kind of work that keeps me inspired—where impact, innovation, and responsibility come together. 2️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀? My favorite part about working at QT has definitely been the team. Our team is a mix of people at different stages in their careers and lives, from fresh talent to seasoned professionals, parents to young professionals just starting out. It’s rare to find such a down-to-earth, genuine group that truly enjoys and embraces one another. Whether it’s swapping stories about life, learning from one another’s perspectives, or teasing about our wildly different tastes in music, there’s always a sense of connection. 3️⃣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗱𝗮𝘆? After work, I’m usually cheering my kids on from the sidelines at their activities or sports, which I absolutely love. It keeps me involved in our community and lets me be part of their world. But I also believe in prioritizing moments for self-care whenever I can, whether it’s reading, exercising, thrifting, or finding calm through meditation and a good sauna and cold plunge session.

I have a task for you. This week pay attention to your values and ask yourself how you can act more in line with your values at work. Studies consistently show that when we act in line with our values, our well-being goes up. I even did a study once during the pandemic, where we asked people to plan two to three activities each week to act on one of their most important values. All indices of their well-being went up, even though it was generally a difficult time. So go ahead and ✅ take a piece of paper and put it near your workstation ✅ write 3-4 of your most important values ✅ pick one ✅ think of 2-3 ways you want to show up with this one chosen value at work more this week. From my set, I'm choosing freedom this week. --------- At Well Made we help employers build psychologically safe work environments through training and mentoring programs. One of the elements of our own unique model of working is values. We base our work in science and authenticity to make a real impact on how people feel at work.
