PLEASE READ AND PLEDGE, WE RELY ON YOUR SUPPORT IF YOU ARE ABLE 💚 🌳 Like many charities, the last couple of years have been pretty hard for TreeSisters and we’ve seen a very real drop in regular donations. Our annual appeals have always been an essential source of funding but this year the Big Give Christmas Challenge will play an even bigger role. ⌛ We need to raise £15,000 in pledges by the 8th September. If we are successful, we then have a chance of reaching a total of £60,000 when the challenge runs in December. 🌲 Over the last 10 years, we’ve planted more than 28 million trees with 19 partners across 12 countries. And in 2023-24 we encouraged more than 12,000 local and Indigenous community members to participate in the restoration of their lands, with women making up more than 50% of those participating and almost 500 taking leadership roles in the projects. The pledges can be any amount from £100 and only need to be pledged by 8th September, they cannot be donated until after the campaign in December. 💚 I love this idea as this means that if you are interested, we could pledge what we could afford and then have the benefit of time to save the money up each week until the end of the campaign in December (10th December 2024). Call of the Sea recently joined  1% for the Planet. 1% for the Planet is a global network with thousands of businesses and environmental organizations working together to support people and the planet. There are more than 5,200 business members, each of which pledges to donate 1% of their annual profits to organizations working to improve the environment. Currently, Call of the Sea is one of more than 7,000 environmental partners around the world. If your company has made the 1% pledge (and why wouldn’t it?), it can choose Call of the Sea as a recipient of some of its donations. Volunteer hours and in-kind donations count, as do financial gifts. Companies can donate to as many organizations as they like, so please ask your company to include Call of the Sea as one of the recipients in its 1% donations. The Impact of This Support   Contributions help: - Provide scholarships and transportation subsidies for underserved youth in the 9 counties of the Bay area.  - Maintain and operate educational vessels. - Develop innovative environmental education curricula. - Enhance outreach and community engagement efforts, including for our upcoming 40th anniversary celebration Gala40.
