Rooter has opened up a position for Android Developer-1 and I've got bombarded with referral requests. Here are some of do and don't you should be following in general. Instead of : 1. sending hi, hello sir, how are you, I would want a referral. 2. directly sending resume in pdf. 3. resume mentions project but no links. 4. links are not working. 5. more than one paged resume. Do this : 1. send directly your resume, job link, why someone should refer you. mention cover letter points. 2. send resume in drive link with public access. 3. projects with proper playstore and github links should be there. 4. links should be working obviously. 5. send single pages resume.

We're almost at the end of 2024. Why is this post still true and relevant today? What kind of recruiters/employers/hiring managers/TAs think that they can still get away with listing these and other such inane things as "benefits"? My personal favourites: "Gadget allowance" - So you'll give me an "allowance" to get equipment to do the job you're hiring me to do in the first place? "28 days annual leave" - In the UK, that is the statutory entitlement. It's not a benefit. It'd be illegal if you tried to offer me less! "Company pension plan" - Again, in the UK, all employers must offer a workplace pension scheme by law. It's not a benefit, numbnuts! Don't even get me started on Workperks, Perkbox or any of those other useless "employee discount" programs. When you whittle it down, many companies really only have one or two "real" benefits! I'm curious, what are the $h1ttest "benefits" you've come across?
Why would I call my toxic ex when I have these Job Descriptions here to gaslight me? 😍😍😍 Remote Role! (Actually you have to move to Maine and live within .02 miles of the office) Fun and Collaborative Work Environment! (Glassdoor rating - 1 star) Competitive Pay and Perks! (Your holiday bonus will be a goodie bag containing a Rubik’s cube and a coffee mug) Entry Level Developer Wanted! (3-5 years experience in JavaScript, C#, Golang, React.
