U.S. Army North (5th Army) is advancing homeland defense through innovative strategies and technology-driven projects. As emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and directed energy reshape conflict landscapes, the Army aims to bolster defenses and readiness to meet tomorrow’s challenges. With the Future of Homeland Defense (FHD) Project, U.S. Army North (5th Army) studies these advancements’ impacts and formulates strategies to secure the nation. Complementing this, the Multi-Domain Resiliency Zone (MDRZ) concept introduces a modular, layered approach to protect critical infrastructure and military assets across the U.S. By combining adaptive islanding with multi-domain defense capabilities, MDRZ strengthens resilience against emerging threats.
