We believe that making a difference goes beyond the work we do—it’s about giving back to the communities we serve. Social impact isn’t just a box we tick; it’s a key driver of who we are as an organisation. This year, our incredible colleagues have come together to create meaningful change through a variety of initiatives that reflect our passion for people and our commitment to the communities we live and work in. Here are some highlights from 2024: Personal Fundraising – Our colleagues championed causes close to their hearts, raising funds for charities that matter most to them. Team Challenges – From scaling peaks in the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to cycling in the Tour de BT, our teams pushed boundaries to for vital causes directly related to the projects and partnerships that drive North Volunteering in Local Communities – Through our Volunteering Programme, we empowered our people to support the causes they care about, whether individually or in teams. Donation Drives – Partnering with Trussell, we collected essential items for those in need, helping to make a tangible difference. Macmillan Coffee Mornings – Across the organisation, we came together to raise money and awareness for cancer support. Every one of these efforts reflects our belief in giving back and working together to make a significant impact. We’re proud to provide an environment where our people can grow and thrive while contributing to the causes they care about.

In an interview with Sustainable Ports Association, our Director of Public Services, Roger Craven, shares insights into our transformative work with the Port of Aberdeen. In this project we showcased our smarter ports offer, supplying integrated solutions to improve port efficiency while supporting their journey towards net-zero.

As the holiday season is upon us, everyone at North would like to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to all of our followers, customers, and partners. We hope you all have restful festive period and enjoy time with friends and family.

Today, colleagues from all of our offices collected donations made by the team over the last few weeks to be delivered to Trussell foodbanks. Thanks to their generosity, we’ve collected a significant amount of essential food and items to support individuals and families during this challenging time of year. We had some lovely moments in this campaign. None more so than one of our colleagues dropping off their delivery to a family member who volunteers at a local foodbank. Trussell works tirelessly to provide food and services to people in crisis, ensuring the people they support aren't left without the basics. This is especially vital during the holiday season, a time of joy for many but immense pressure for others. Together, we’ve helped bring some relief to those who need it most.
