Santa Paula residents, your voice matters! In light of recent community feedback, it's evident that 87% of us recognize the pressing need for additional resources to bolster City services. Now, it's our chance to steer the course of action through the Santa Paula Speaks, Community Priorities online survey. The condition of our streets has become a recurring concern. As independent assessments revealed, nearly half of Santa Paula's streets were deemed "poor" or "very poor" prior to the last rainy season. With winter's toll, the situation has only worsened. But there's hope! With your input, we can advocate for street repairs, pothole filling, and proactive measures to prevent sinkholes. Let's seize this opportunity to shape the future of our roads. Beyond streets, the city's survey highlights a spectrum of priorities identified by neighbors: from maintaining street paving to preserving local businesses.

It’s all been said before, but this just came across my feed and had some great pics which caught my attention. And it got me thinking that post-network city the whole issue of cheap sprawl has only continued to get (substantially) worse. As Dr. Brad Pettitt MLC has suggested, public transport can be a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but there is a deep ethical issue that is the nub of it. And that is, by building transit to the fringe we enable the fringe to gallop another few KM out. But to not do so we consign, by policy, people living in these suburbs to long commutes, lack of connectivity, disproportionate impact of oil price shock, etc. The harder we work to ensure that our most vulnerable have access to decent public transport, the more we enable the creation of more suburbs of vulnerability. So what do we need to do? An urban growth boundary is not the answer or so we’ve been told. Mandatory infill targets seem to have had limited effect. Every suggestion seems to attract a response of ‘yes, but affordability’. But surely there are some things we can do? https://lnkd.in/gfDRBp5M #perthproperty #perthplanning #perthhousing #housing #apartmentliving #planning #urbandesign #affordablehousing #socialhousing #tod #transitorienteddevelopment #infill #mediumdensity #metronet #missingmiddle #metronet #publictransport #publictransit #urbansprawl
From the perth community on Reddit: Always loved Perth, but this has changed my perspective. Are we really a city designed for cars & property developers? Or community?
