Santa Paula residents, your voice matters! In light of recent community feedback, it's evident that 87% of us recognize the pressing need for additional resources to bolster City services. Now, it's our chance to steer the course of action through the Santa Paula Speaks, Community Priorities online survey. The condition of our streets has become a recurring concern. As independent assessments revealed, nearly half of Santa Paula's streets were deemed "poor" or "very poor" prior to the last rainy season. With winter's toll, the situation has only worsened. But there's hope! With your input, we can advocate for street repairs, pothole filling, and proactive measures to prevent sinkholes. Let's seize this opportunity to shape the future of our roads. Beyond streets, the city's survey highlights a spectrum of priorities identified by neighbors: from maintaining street paving to preserving local businesses.
I was just having a conversation with someone about the roads after doing an appraisal in Santa Paula, the needed repairs are long over due! Thanks for sharing this information Kay.

8moHi Stephanie - The City is well into a five-year road improvement plan. Consultants reported we should replace the 100 year old utilities lines and pipes first. That is happening along Harvard Blvd. We are all weary of the assaults on our vehicles and the road's appearance, but the project is nearing an end. The delay was caused because the contractors found pipes in places that did not match the schematics and some places had to be re-dug. We hope the new paving will be in place by year-end, if not sooner. Additionally, consultants say it is more economical to preserve roads in medium disrepair than to first target roads in the worst condition. A read of the reports indicates this is a good business decision.
