Today, on Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for a more just and equitable society. As we reflect on the past, let's also look towards the future and how we can create opportunities for all. At Project Hire-Ed, we're committed to promoting diversity and equity in the workforce, and that includes our apprenticeship programs. Apprenticeships offer a fantastic pathway to skilled careers, providing valuable on-the-job training and experience without the burden of college debt. We recognize the need to break down barriers and ensure that everyone has the chance to succeed in these rewarding careers. By investing in equity within our apprenticeship programs, we're not just building a more diverse workforce – we're building a stronger future for our entire community.

It was a privilege to be asked by the team at Progress Together to write an article on the importance of #apprenticeship programmes for career development and increasing socio-economic diversity in Financial Services. My experience with Corndel, working with some of the Financial Services sector’s biggest brands, has really highlighted some of the challenges faced by the sector. Social mobility and socio-economic diversity continue to be key drivers. Mid-career development via apprenticeships provides individuals with fully-funded professional skills development opportunities, and remove the consistent educational, socio-economic and cultural barriers to career progression which we regularly see in the FS sector. By partnering with organisations to understand their organisational diversity objectives, alongside our expertise in tackling the prevalent skills gaps identified in the Financial Services Skills Commission reports and framework (https://lnkd.in/eKcnXWtq), the Corndel team and I work with FS organisations to design and deliver bespoke development programmes, funded via the levy, that deliver personal impact and organisational ROI. The article below is a great introduction to how apprenticeships deliver real value for people from all backgrounds, and support FS organisations to accelerate towards their diversity goals. Southeast New Mexico College Workforce Development is asking for contact from local employers interested in non-credit employee training programs that result in an industry-recognized credential or endorsement, internships, and apprenticeships. The purpose is to develop an implementation plan for state funding appropriated for Fiscal Year 2025 through Fiscal Year 2027. Below is language from House Bill 2 (HB2): For New Mexico community colleges and regional universities to pay up to the full cost of student tuition and fees for workforce training courses not eligible for other financial aid and that result in an industry-recognized credential or endorsement. This funding may also be used to subsidize costs of students involved in apprenticeships or internships. To express your interest, please contact: Monty Harris, Vice President of Workforce Development (575) 234-9396 workforce@senmc.edu Southeast New Mexico College

Happy National Apprenticeship Week(NAW)! 📣 This week, over 2,200 events are taking place across all 50 states—celebrating 10 years of engagement, expansion, and innovation in Registered Apprenticeships. As an apprenticeship graduate, I know firsthand how transformative this path can be. Big shoutout to companies like Integer Technologies LLC for leading the way in providing opportunities for the next generation of workers! 🙌 As a fellow apprenticeship graduate, I love highlighting how valuable apprenticeships are. More companies should take a page from Integer Technologies LLC and strive to provide such opportunities to the next workforce of America. Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking at the HBCU RA Collaborative Kick-Off and reflecting on how my journey—from taking Assembly Language at Benedict College to talking with the U.S. Department of Labor—has shaped my career. Everyone’s journey into tech is unique. My story isn’t the conventional route, but that’s the beauty of apprenticeships—they open doors in ways you least expect! I’m grateful for my support system and everyone who pushed me to keep going. I hope my story encourages others to consider apprenticeship programs or explore their own unconventional paths. You never know where it might take you! 🔑 Let’s keep expanding opportunities and fostering innovation through apprenticeships. If you have an apprenticeship story, share it with us! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #ApprenticeshipJourney #RegisteredApprenticeship #TechCareer #HBCU
