5 ways to make your #marketing more #traumainformed (note: this applies to any type of industry attempting to market to other humans) 1. Be Human > human first, always. Using jargon or marketing lingo looks nice but what's more effective is if you (a human) talk like a human, to other humans. 2. Be Transparent > transparency builds trust. So I'm going to say something that contradicts sales 101: stop hiding your prices. Tell us what it costs! And if it is project based and depends, then say that! 3. Be Clear > clarity helps us make informed-decisions. We can still utilize creativity and traditional marketing strategies while also being clear so people can make the best choice for them (which also means the best choice for you because you are going to find your 'ideal' clients). 4. Be Consensual > don't assume, ask. Consensual communications shift us into centering people into their own experiences and not ours. 5. Be Intentional > shift from pain points to trust points. Trust leads to safety within relationships-which also includes relationships to brands and services. Shift from going after the person's pain and towards points of trust. Trauma-informed practices in marketing all focus on trust points. Trust leads to safety, and when trust and safety exist in relationships (whether that is with other humans, brands, services, etc.) then we are more likely to have good experiences, enhances our engagement and impacts outcomes. Win-win-win, right? This all may sound simple or even intuitive but it takes intention and choice. The best way to understand how you’ve gotten to where you’re at now is by looking back & connecting the dots. 5️⃣yrs ago, I went to a conference with Jason Khalipa. I spent 3 days at his gyms, toured the Bay Area, met with all the leaders of his team & listened to industry experts. I’ve been to dozens of conferences but this one hit different. I almost didn’t go. I was kinda “conferenced out”. I had been to a lot and none of them gave me the value I needed. I wasn’t sure that taking 5 days off work & growing the company was the best idea at the time. I was completely wrong. Luckily my wife encouraged me to go & I went. Every part of this conference hit home. It was different, it was just….better. Simply put, his conference was absolutely EXCELLENT! I came back on 🔥🔥🔥 and it was what I needed ✅ 5 months later, COVID happened. I was able to learn from Jason, see how he navigated things in CA and by the time it hit GA, I was well prepared ✅ I was able to do podcast, trainings & conference calls with everyone on the team. I learned a LOT! ✅ I built an amazing network with other gym owners who were doing his program ✅ Jason gave me personal guidance & many phone calls + zoom when I started opening more gyms for the first time. What a massive help!! 🙏 The point here….. ➡️ The conference you don’t want to go to is probably the one you most need to go to. Never stop growing - get around people who are WAYYY better than you & learn.

Everywhere you turn, someone is promising the next big thing in marketing: 📹 “This one YouTube strategy will 10x your leads!” 📚 “Sign up for this course and see overnight success!” 🎤 “Follow this guru’s blueprint to scale your business!” Sound familiar? - I know I was easy prey once upon a time 😖 Here’s my opinion I’ve discovered after years of helping businesses grow: Overcomplicating your marketing is one of the biggest obstacles to real results. Let’s break it down: 📈 Help: Simple, repeatable systems that work around the clock allow you to generate leads, nurture prospects, and convert clients consistently. These systems don’t rely on constant tinkering—they thrive on clarity and execution. ❌ Hinder: Chasing “hacks” spreads your energy too thin, leaving you overwhelmed and with no measurable progress. As December is coming to an end, I love this time of year. We have the holidays coming up and this means family coming to town and making great memories. However, I usually like to take some time to do a few things to end the current year and prepare for the new year. I take the necessary time to: 1️⃣ Reflect on what went well in 2024. 2️⃣ Think about things that did not go well in 2024. 3️⃣ Look into the projects that I was not able to get done in 2024. 4️⃣ Plan for 2025!!! But I need to ask you all, how do you reflect back on 2024 and how do you plan for 2025??? For me, I have a HUGE dry-erase board in my office and each year I sit down and start with a legal pad and start writing down everything I can think of (in no particular order): ➡️ Trainings I want to host 🙂 ➡️ Tasks I want to do ✅ ➡️ Projects I want to do 🚚 ➡️ Conferences I want to attend 🧳 ➡️ Podcasts I want to be on 🎙️ ➡️ Webinars I want to host or attend 💪 ➡️ Books I want to read 📚 ➡️ Projects I want to finish 🤕 ➡️ People I want to know 👨💼 ➡️ People I want to grow with 📈 ➡️ People I want to help 🆘 ➡️ Places I want to go 🛫 ➡️ Goals I want to achieve 🥅 ➡️ Things I want to create 📹 ➡️ Areas I can volunteer 👷♂️ ➡️ Things/people I need to let go of ❌ ➡️ People who can mentor me 👨🏫 ➡️ People I can mentor 🧑🏫 ➡️ Keep being an influencer 🧩 ➡️ Share your stories 📑 ➡️ Conferences I want to speak at List your ideas on how you plan for the new year below in the comments!!!
