Food serves as a powerful community connector by bringing people together to share experiences, celebrate cultural traditions, and build relationships. Whether through communal meals, family gatherings, or cultural festivals, food fosters connection and understanding across diverse backgrounds. This week's wellness practice: call a family member or friend, gather the recipe for a beloved holiday dish, and learn to make it-nourishing both your heart and your connections. —— MVP-PRO is a collection of concepts, topics, questions, and practices designed to move us all forward, increase our wellness, and build a stronger foundation for the people we deserve to be and the lives we deserve to live. Every week, our huddles will have the opportunity to go deeper into these principles and practices. Each MVP-PRO ends with a wellness practice because the real, lasting change happens in the space between the huddles. Leaders face a non-trivial and delicate balance between driving external scale and nurturing internal depth. To truly make a difference at scale, we need to focus on our strengths and trust others in the ecosystem to complement our efforts. The phrase "useful, not just visible" is one I often use. This is tightly bound to well-being—both for ourselves and other change-makers. This conversation between Rohini Nilekani and Melinda French Gates in The Wellbeing Project's Cultivating Hope series highlights the critical importance of providing well-being resources to leaders. It's a necessary reminder that our effectiveness as change agents is deeply tied to our personal well-being. Caring for ourselves helps us find our unique role in the ecosystem and create a lasting impact. I'm curious about your experiences. How do you balance external impact with internal well-being? What practices help you stay grounded while striving for scale? Aruna Venkatachalam Centre for Exponential Change
Supporting changemaker wellbeing is key to protecting and helping leaders make a bigger difference. In the first episode of The Wellbeing Project's Cultivating Hope series, Rohini Nilekani (Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies) and Melinda French Gates discuss providing wellbeing resources.

We hosted our second Self-Care Sunday yesterday, and it was so wonderful to connect with our community who were joining from three different continents 🌍 Each Sunday we spend an hour together, with guided meditation, journaling, a self-care activity and a sharing circle. To close our Self-Care Sundays, we read a story aloud. Yesterday's story was a reminder that doing your best is good enough, and every tiny action adds up. 📚 The Hummingbird and the Forest Fire One day, a terrible fire broke out in a forest - a huge, roaring blaze that threatened to destroy everything in its path. All the animals gathered at the edge of the forest, feeling helpless as they watched their home being consumed by flames. The fire was too big, and they felt there was nothing they could do. Suddenly, a tiny hummingbird flew back and forth from the river to the fire, carrying a few drops of water in its beak each time. The other animals watched, confused and surprised by the little bird’s actions. "Little Hummingbird, what do you think you’re doing?" asked a large, concerned elephant. "The fire is far too big, and you’re far too small to make any difference!" The hummingbird paused for a moment, then turned to the elephant and said, "I’m doing the best I can." With that, the hummingbird continued flying back and forth, carrying tiny drops of water to the flames. Reflection Questions: 🌳What does this story suggest about the importance of individual efforts, even when the challenges seem insurmountable? 🌳In what ways can you be like the hummingbird in your work, volunteering or activism? 🌳How can a small but determined effort inspire others around you? Would you like an hour in your week to rest? To reflect on how you're really feeling? To spend 60 minutes away from your phone? Join us each Sunday. Come and look after your wellbeing with us. 🎟 https://lnkd.in/dkMxDB5m #thejoyfulactivists #charitywellbeing #humanitarianmentalhealth

Here’s something we don’t talk about enough: authenticity. Everyone says they want it, but what does it really mean for a brand? Think about the last time you actively sought out a brand. Was it just because you loved the product? Or was it because the product had a unique backstory, championed inclusivity, environmental sustainability, provided loyalty programs, advocated social justice, or even supported charitable partnerships? People aren’t just looking for products anymore—they’re looking for brands with purpose, brands that align with their values, not just their needs. Take Headspace as an example. They’re not just selling an app—they’re making mental health support accessible. By offering free access to NHS workers, they’re showing that their mission goes beyond profit. That’s purpose and authenticity in action. So, are you leading with authenticity and purpose, or hiding behind trends? If you want to communicate your purpose in a more authentic way, speak to KVA | The New Era Agency—we’d love to help you uncover and share your brand’s true story. https://bit.ly/4eHy9io #headspace #brands #values #TeamKVA
